Disney credit card?

I see many of you have the Disney credit card. What are the advantages of having one? Are there discounts or cash back for Disney purchases? I guess I want to know if it would be worth it to get one. If so, where can I apply? Thanks

You basically get $1 Disney dollar for every $100 spent. The rewards are 1%. Sometimes they give card holders advance booking for packages. And there once was a deal for buying tickets to the Lion King broadway early and at a price.

They have the Disney Visa meet and greet at Innoventions. Just small stuff.

You can apply at Chase.com or click on one of the links through some of the Disney websites, they offer promotions sometimes, like 25 Disney dollars and such.

There are some Disney discounts, from time to time. If you ever want to book a tour, there is a 20% discount. That is sizeable. There are more, you need to call Chase and get the booklet, I am not sure if it is online. The disney discount packages may be available a few days earlier to cardholders. The main one that I use is the Rewards points. The Rewards card is used at Disney, the same as a credit card, for anything. We use it for dining, tickets etc. Disney cruise gets a $50.00 shipboard credit per room booked with the card, up to three rooms or I booked three rooms, anyway I would need to check, it helped.

I don't know how true this is but I've heard from more than one source that this Disney Visa card (which I've had since "Day 1") will be going away next year. There have been some good offers but, in my opinion, a poor replacement for the Disney "clubs' that came before. For many years we felt rewarded for being loyal Disney fans, where now we feel pushed to "spend" as loyal Disney fans. But, then, they are in business to make money so I guess we should just buy more stock.

Not likely. They wouldn't be trying so hard to recruit new cardholders if that was true.

What are your sources? My latest Rewards card is good through Dec 2008, which is the proper time period. I have been a Disney card holder from Day one also. I plan on using a major portion of my Rewards this Dec, but I would sure like to know, I need to start shopping for new cards now.
