DF is against it... he has a discover...

But I was wondering, any of you who have it, is it worth it?

Thanks!
Jenny

I have it and in Epcot if you have the card there is a special character photograph area in Journey to Imagination that only card holders can get into so you do get some pretty good benefits. :thumbsup2

DF and I both have them. Its really the only card we ever use. I first got it because I just wanted the card with the mickey ears! but I have never had any problems with it. Together we have about $1200 of disney reward dollars saved up. We are hoping to use them in Hawaii when it opens in 2011.

I have never had a discover - but no one here takes discover - so I would never consider it. I feel like it would be equal to having an Amex as your only card. Not everyone takes it either.

My personal opinion would be to stick with visa or MC since EVERYONE takes them. If you go that route - why not have a cool disney card!

I have the Disney Visa and love it!

I don't have any points saved up though. I usually spend them as soon as I see double digits! :lmao:

I have one. I used it to pay off my wedding and used the reward dollars towards our Disneymoon. There's no annual fee on it, so it doesn't really hurt to get one.

I don't really understand the points?
Thanks for your advice though I think I am signing up now!

Unless disney is running some sort of a deal you get 1% back. So if you spend $100 you get 1 disney reward dollar - which is a disney dollar you can spend on anything disney.

A lot of times especially around the holidays they up the rewards I think the highest I have even seen them was 8% before xmas one year on disney store purchases. They will always send you a card in the mail notifying you of the chance to earn more rewards.

I think they are still running this - but when I got mine there was no interest any disney purchases for the first 6 months. If you are planning to charge part of your wedding then I would wait and get it closer to your wedding. If you aren't then get it now and start racking up the rewards!!!

i requested my disney visa right before i took my grandchildren to wdw for the first time. that was about 7 years ago. i have been using that card almost all the time and last christmas when we went to wdw for a week my points paid for meals for 4 people the entire week! :santa: i consider that worth having.

i have used my card to purchase abd trips and also dvc contracts. the disney purchases are interest free for 6 months. :thumbsup2

i love my disney visa card and am a charter member.;)

we like ours. we've earned like $120 rewards since we opened the card last july. we transferred over a huge balance to it so we haven't charged a ton on it because we were paying that down. we had a 0% balance transfer for a year and 0% interest on new purchases for a year which was very helpful for us when we were paying down our debt.

we plan on taking advantage of the discounts with it when we go to disney for our disneymoon (discount on tours, few epcot character meet, etc).

we are also charging our trip to it and taking advantage of the 0% financing for 6 months on disney packages.

I have a disney visa too! I don't use it that often, but I have $80 to redeem. Every little bit counts!

I have a Disney Visa and love it! I use it for a lot of random things but now that the wedding is coming up to a year out, I plan on using it only for wedding related stuff (i.e. deposits, rings, etc).

We used ours a lot for the wedding. My favorite thing about it is that the points are good for 5 years, thats great when I don't get down to disney as often as I'd like.

disney visa really beats a card that gives you 5 or 10% off a meal for 2 at a restaurant in a location you never heard of for every $1000.00. that never does me any good. i, however, do know where wdw is!:thumbsup2

I have one and love it! They have great customer service too.

I have it and am not impressed at all by it. The APR on this credit card after the first year is outrageous. If you carry a balance on your credit card from month to month rather than pay it off in full I would not recommend this credit card at all. The interest $ you will pay will most likely far outweigh the point $ you earn to use at WDW.
I got the card when they offered the Little Mermaid design because I absolutely love TLM and had to have it. I already had another credit card I'd been using for years.
The Disney credit card only gives you 1 point for every $100 you spend. If you spend $1000 you will have $10 credit to use at Disney. The other credit card I have gives you a lot more rewards points for spending a lot less $.
I would recommend getting it as a 2nd credit card and charging only to it what you know you will pay off in full. Having it allows you to take advantage of its small perks such as a free character photo at Epcot and although I've never done it I've heard they offer good deals for charging WDW trips.
Another thing I've discovered is that whenever I stop using this card for a while and use only my other card the Disney Visa will suddenly start sending me incentives to use it such as 5 times the bonus points or 25 bonus points for making a purchase. That's when I start using it again temporarily but for the most part I am very disappointed in how small the reward value is vs how high the apr is. If you do decide to get it make sure you search the internet first for a code that will start you off with some freebie bonus points. I'm not sure if it still is but when I got the card a few years ago the freebie was $50.

I also just got to buy tickets to Mary Poppins before it went on sale to the general public and got priority seating because I have a disney visa.

I just used mine to pay for our down payment for the wedding. I figure, if you use it so pay for some of the wedding, you can at least get a free meal out of it!!! LOL! Good Luck.

I love it. The customer service is great! Love the Disney Rewards points lol.
