Disney Credit Card - is it really worth it?

What's the difference between the regular card and the "premier" card? Other perks beyond the $200 credit?

I was just wondering if it is really worth getting the credit card or just get a regular card that offers cash back? We are debating whether to apply for one or not? Please give me the pros and cons of it. It seems like card holders are not finding out about discounts or free dining ahead of the general public anymore either so not sure what to do. TIA

It was worth it for us as DH & I both received mail invitations a few years ago that gave us 'each' $200 after first use of card (they have since changed usage rules) so we had $400 total extra spending at Disney that year!!

We still use our cards some, but have American Express for a lot of things. We also pay them off monthly. So whether it's worth it to you depends on your spending habits and vacation destinations. We neither like to fly so airline mileage is useless to us. We will probably use our Disney card less and less as we are vacationing other destinations more and more.

We 'do' get discounts at some Disney restaurants and shops, but that is not our main interests in the card. Some cards give 3% on groceries and gas - my American Express does - but they are very 'sneaky' - there are just certain grocery stores and gas stations that qualify!!!

As for the premier card - we absolutely refuse to 'pay' for the benefit of using their (any) cards!

ok thanks - I know I have seen others post something about a referral code to use in order to the $200 with the regular card but I wasn't sure if they still offer those. If they do I would be interested in a referral code!

I think its called "Refer a Friend" code

Not sure if all referrals are the same, but the last thing (for referrals) we had in the mail was just for $50 a few weeks ago. We have had our cards for about three years when they were mailing out invitations with a $200 bonus - not sure if they still are doing that. Someone else may have information on this.
