Hey all,

I've done the CP and now work for Radio Disney which is so much fun. However, I am now trying to apply for several internships with corporate (studios, espn, abc, etc.) Has anyone ever done this before - either applied or actually held an internship? I have a couple questions if so! Thanks everyone!

I do not have info, but did want to let you know those are not corporate internships, so you may want to consider retitling your post for more feedback?

Studios is part of the Studio Entertainment Segment

ESPN and ABC are part of the Media Networks Segment

Of course your CP was part of the Parks and Resorts Segment

If you don't mind answering, how did you get the opportunity to work for Radio Disney. Was it through the Professional Internship or did you just apply there?

Oh hey Jill! I applied for an internship with Disney ABC On Air Promotions for ABC Daytime out in California. I actually got a call to set up an interview, but unfortunately was ineligible because I wasn't in school. I applied while I was on my second CP the semester after I had graduated. I assumed it had all the same rules as the PI where you are eligible if you are on a CP -- I was wrong. It's completely different. I HAD to have been in school. Also, I thought it was for the following semester (now) but they were actually looking to hire someone immediately (this past fall). So, your Disney/RD experience will definitely help you but it is a different process. I had also completed another internship in radio promotions before. I was kinda bummed since working in Disney/ABC promotions would be amazing and could possibly lead to a job relating to what I studied and want to do with my life, as opposed to working in the parks but oh well. Good luck!

This is very helpful info! How long did it take you to hear back? I posted my resume 6 days ago and was expecting to hear something. There is a "status" column next to my resume that is completely blank! Do you know anything about this? Or is there someone I can call, kind of like a WDWCP recruiter?

I just contacted the station and spoke with the promotions manager. It wasn't as difficult as it sounds!

I think they'll contact you if they want to interview you, I believe it took a few weeks. I think I heard back so soon because they wanted to fill the position immediately, not for the following semester like I had thought. You probably can't contact someone unless they've contacted you first.

edit: Just saw that you said you spoke to someone...hopefully that will lead to something good!

Oh, sorry for the confusion - I was actually telling the story about how I got my job at Radio Disney! I'm sorry to bother you with 100 questions, but do you think that if I haven't heard anything in a week I won't hear anything at all? I'm applying for summer '11 and thought it was kind of late to apply. Also, do you recall anything changing with the "status" of your resume before you were called? Thank you sosooso much you've already been a big help!

my bad - I didn't realize you were replying to someone haha. hmm I don't remember seeing anything about my status changing. Hopefully you'll hear something soon...I would say at least give it a week or two more. But if the position is still listed, it probably hasn't been filled yet.
