Disney converting hotel rooms into princess themed rooms & adding "health suites"

Maybe not -- but an entire Haunted Mansion DVC resort? That's a theme I might buy into.

Remember that Disneyland's Haunted Mansion is set in New Orleans...WDW happens to have a New Orleans themed moderate

There's always a way to jam a themed room in there with a shoehorn these days

This is a wild fantasy and based on nothing at all other than the voices in my head... but imagine the Overlook Hotel built on that patch of land by Fort Wilderness that everyone has designs on.

An entire hotel with a haunting theme (and Big Wheels that kids can ride up and down the hallways, of course)... instead of some redecorated rooms stuffed in an existing moderate resort to raise rates.

Yes, I know "The Shining" isn't exactly the Haunted Mansion or family friendly (or even Disney for that matter)... but since DVC resorts tend to be huge, that's why I'm picturing the Overlook rather than the actual Haunted Mansion.

hey you never know...it would generate additional revenue streams and ensure longterm guaranteed business...

so the idea wouldn't immediately be thrown out the window in burbank...like "fire mountain", the "excavator", or "forbidden mountain":lmao:

I think it's necessary for them to add way more hotels that are able to accommodate 6 person families. We are DVC members, but sometimes we will supplement with a weekend or so - but with 6 of us, it gets pricey.

I have to say as a Mom of two girls, daycare provider to 4 girls and all their classmates and friends I wonder whats taken them so long.

Themed rooms here in Niagara Falls, in Las Vegas or Pocono are the norm. The Disney Princesses are the most popular Disney Characters, even some of the boys I've had like them or at least recognise them.

I'm pretty much betting that if Disney has Princess themed rooms, they will be booked years in advance, no matter the cost! We go in March, and I'm hoping they'll have some ready!!!:woohoo:

Yes its true, Its more fun to live in theme based rooms, specially kids like that kind of things. Rooms are converted like a princess or prince room but remember that are so expensive.

I think the health/wellness rooms are such a great idea and I would stay book one in a heartbeat - if they weren't so damn expensive. Sure some of the concept of the rooms are on the luxury/extravagant side - but I don't understand why having allergen-free mattresses, accessible fresh fruits, and decent workout equipment has to be limited to what I'm sure will be some of the most expensive rooms on property? Other than Disney - I can't really think of a hotel I've stayed in at least the past two years (and I travel somewhat frequently) that didn't have a gym. I think all the naysayers would be surprised at how many travelers would like these options - sure everyone knows Disney isn't a health vacation, but a morning workout and a little moderation on the food can go a long way.

I would like to see more gender neutral rooms. My DD would love to spend a week in a princess room but I can't see my DS being too happy about it. Peter Pan would be great with tinkerbell for the girls and pirates for the boys.

The reason they are called "Royal Rooms", not Prinicess Rooms, is that they are specifically intended to NOT be gender specific. Tom Staggs has 3 boys and is very sensitive to that. You will find no pinks in the POR Royal rooms.

Please. Girls may dream of being princesses but boys don't dream of being princes.
