Disney Collection Booking...

I have a DVC reservation in September. With the border situation still in flux, I am starting to look more closely at my options.

Facts:

Use Year: February
Contracts: 75 Points direct + 125 resale.
Current available points: Direct =75/75/75, Resale = 0/125/125.

The 75 2019 direct points are set to expire Feb 1. The rest I could bank. I'd prefer not to travel outside of my banking window, but would like to hold on to my current September reservation (inside my banking window) until the last moment since the circumstances keep evolving.

In general, I understand the Disney Collection is a pretty bad use of points. But given the short time frame, and everything else going on, renting may not be as easy. I was thinking about switching my points into Disney Collection points so that I can use them at the beginning of my next trip in a value studio and get ~3-4 nights at the Allstars or something.

I can't seem to figure it out from Disney's website. Am I able to bank Disney Collection points into the next use year?

I don't think you can and right now the hotels in the collection are still closed

What are Reservation Points and how do they relate to Vacation Points?

A.

Reservation Points refer to Home Resort Vacation Points that have been converted to reserve accommodations with the Disney Collection or Concierge Collection. Once converted, Reservation Points cannot be re-used for Disney Vacation Club property stays or World Collection exchanges.

• One Reservation Point is equivalent to one annually allotted Home Resort Vacation Point in the Central Reservation System.
• Reservation Points have no other relationship with or comparison to Home Resort Vacation Points.
• Reservation Points are established for convenience of reference only.
• Reservation Points expire at the end of the Use Year in which they are allotted.
• Reservation Points cannot be banked, borrowed, transferred or used to reserve accommodations through the RCI® or the Buena Vista Trading Company External Exchange Programs, nor to reserve accommodations at Disney Vacation Club Resorts.
• Reservation Points cannot be returned to a Disney Vacation Club Member as Home Resort Vacation Points.

Points turn into reservation points when you actually make the reservation that will use them. If you cancel that reservation, the points cannot be re-used for a DVC resort or for RCI and they will expire at the end of the use year. They cannot be banked.

With a February use year, you must book your initial DIsney collection reservation prior to September 30 and your stay must occur on or before 1/31/2021.
