Because they can make a lot more money off of the Disney VISA card. They're making a good deal of money from splitting the merchant services fees with the issuing bank... and then they'll make more money when you redeem your points towards Disney vacations like before.

I'm a member of the DC and the only "replacement" will be the Disney VISA card. I got one as soon as they came out.

While I'm taking advantage of the Disney Reward Dollars, I haven't received any discounts or great deals through them yet. The VISA is new and the DC is still active through the end of the year, so it might take some time to see what benefits they offer.

I'm sad to see the DC go away.

I have noticed that some of the "deals" coming with my Disney Visa bill are the same as the Disney Club. Such as an ESPN Zone $20 card for 50% off ($10). I hope that once we reach the end of the year and the Disney Club, that some of the offers for resort deals carry over to the VISA card.
