Disney club renewal

Does it cost the same to renew the disney club card as it did to purchase initially? Not sure Im ready to renew if there is no enticement.

Gee Whiz Gail! Renewals are $10.00 less if they paid $39.95 originally. Did anyone? All renewals are $29.95. I don't believe there is an additional discount.

As Disney Stock Holders I believe we only paid $55.00 for a two year membership.
So this is costing us more. We just renewed the other day and we asked about
discounts for Stock Holders or anything else. There is nothing but the renewal discount.
Thank kind of stinks. I don't know if we actually pay for the membership in the discounts
we actually end up using. We have only used the Hotel discount 1 time since joining.
The only other way we use it is the restaurants that we cannot get discounts with any
other membership, etc. (ap, dvc, amex). But we still renewed and are going to try to add
up what we save this coming year.

Hi Everyone

I am a disney club member also and i have never used it before. I know i should have with all the disney movies i buy. I am going to Disney the end of March to the begining of April. I am asking if i should renew it? I am staying off the property and i wanted to know what i can use it for in disney are there any special places i go to use it? Maybe dining? Shopping? I would like to know more about it. I also want to go for an extra 2 days and stay somewhere else so my family can go to universal studios, is there a hotel i can use my disney club membership for?

Yep, I paid 39.95 originally. My MKC card was to expire and I had the option of paying the 55.00 for two years or paying the 39.95 for one year of the new program. I opted for the new program. They extended the renewal for a few months.
The renewal will be 29.95 for one year.
I doubt there will be a stockholder discount.
Yes, there is a discount with the DVC membership, however, it is not applicable to passes except LOS, and not applicable at any shops at DD.

You can use the DC for some shops at DTD (World of Disney). YOu can get discounts at the resorts with the DC if you book early enough. They are running so many other rates that are less $$ now though. However, if you have an Amex card, the discount is 15% if you purchase more than $50 and use it to book your resort (I don't think the CM can tell from the resort key though) at certain stores including World of Disney. I have both and used the Amex card since it had a bigger discount. DC you don't have a minimum though.

At any of the shops at DD (World of Disney etc.) that accept the DC for a discount, there is a minimum purchase of 25.00. Just so there is no confusion, this minimum is only at DD not at the Disney Stores elsewhere.

Hi

I have used my Disney club card for the first time. I had booked a real cheap flight for my family and my self, for the 3 of us out of Providence it only cost $366 so i booked an extra 2 nights in disney. So i actually saved on my room and air.
These boards help so much and so doesn't the internet. I am so lucky i am so compulsive when it comes to searching for the best deals.

I heard that effective Jan 1, 2002, the AMEX discount at DD is going to be the same as Disney Club. 10% off, minimium $25 purchase.

My DH used the DC last week on a purchase of only $18 at World of Disney. Seems not every CM follows the rules I actually didn't know there was a minimum on it. I also wondered why Amex discount was greater than DC. Now wouldn't you know, the first time I actually remembered to bring the card (I always leave home without it ), will be the last time for the larger %
