Hi momofofo
This will be our 3rd
Disney cruise. The 1st we did the 7 day Eastern, the 2nd we did 3 day land/4 day sea with 3 days pre cruise and 2 days post cruise that was extended by 2 days due to 9/11. It is expensive for us CDN's, but I keep on looking for the BEST price I can get and then convince my hubby that it is a GREAT deal. This time it is a surprise for my family including hubby, which I will let know before I put the final payment down. (It is for our 10th Anniv.), to make sure he can get away the beginning of Dec.
I booked the cruise last December when we were given the opportunity to book with the special onboard booking, and DU was giving a rebate. I have the $75.00 rebate from DU with a $100 CC on board credit and for a family of 4 it is a total of $2655 US (less the DU $75) (appx. $4,102 CDN) for a cat. 8. I think it is l a pretty good deal considering 2 years ago it cost us $4,999.00 (it did include air) CDN for a cat 10. However, we can buy buddy passes from a friend of my DH's from NW for the 4 of us for $850 CDN flying 1st class). So, I don't think my DH will object unless the CDN $ goes down a lot more. It is still Disney and we loved the ship, and we both want to do the Western itin. Also, the way Disney looked after everyone after 9/11, you try to look the other way when it comes to paying a little extra.
Just tell your DH that Disney is top notch!
However, I do get frustrated when paying CDN $ and not being able to benefit from the Disney Club on board credit, as there really aren't very many benefits for CDN's being members except for the magazine, which you can get separately. All of the extra coupons are good only in the US!
Anyway, good luck in trying to get your DH to take another Disney cruise!
