Good question. I just received my DC newsletter and there was nothing mentioned about Alamo in it.
I do know they were having a promo, you might want to check the Alamo website. www.alamo.com. Also, I would sign up for their quicksilver program. Saves a LOT of time. I believe it is still free. Finding the signup for Quicksilver is tricky, go under business. Let me know if you need help.
My husband is being sent to WDW for business next month and I'm going along. I wanted a car to use while he's in his conference, so I looked around the web with my Entertainment book and found Alamo had the best deal. I got a 4 door Cavalier for $25/day!! They also have discounts on other cars now, too. Check out their site!
Thanks, Herc! I found out it was offsite when I made the reservation, but decided the price is worth the inconvenience. I also looked them up at epinions.com to see how people had rated their experiences with Alamo and still have decided to go with them. Thanks again!!!
No, you still have to go to the desk with Quicksilver.
But... you can use an automated machine. The machine prints out a receipt with your specific car listed on it. You then go to that exact car.
All in all, it's not as good as Emerald Aisle.
It is a nice program, but, you cannot select your own car. You take your card to a kiosk (thereby AVOIDING A LINE and a counter) and insert it and it spits out the location of your car.
It is quick and easy, takes about 1 min (assuming no one is in line in front of you). If the kiosk is down they do have a special dedicated counter for QS. Also, you can use this counter if you don't like the assigned car.
We used the counter for QS the one of the times I used priceline for a car and I won at Alamo. It was really nice.
