Disney Club card

I am going to WDW in March and would like to know if I buy the Disney Club Card now will it expire at the end of the year or is it valid one year from purchase? I would like to have it now so I can use it at the Disney store and for reservations.

If any of you out there are employed by the State of Illinois, the membership fee is $29.95 -- which is $10.00 cheaper than the regular rate. I just purchased my membership last week and am waiting for the kit to arrive.

I have Disney Card and enjoy it very much. However, Mousesavers.com has some other budget options that can be less expensive than Disney Card discount. Check it out!
