I have heard that in order to receive AAA or Disney Club discounts you have to book and Disney Package. Is this true? If so is using the discount cheeper than doing everythying yourself? We are planning on going during the value season. Also, I am new to this whole Disney thing. Can any one tell me when 2003 rates come out? And when they do should I book the room and then wait to see if any codes come out. Or wait to see of codes come out and then book the room. Thank you for your help.

AAA discounts can be made through CRO for room only. If you want package from AAA, you have to get it from your local AAA agency.

I believe the DC rates come out in October-November for the next year, but if what you want isn't available book what you can and keep trying. Availability seems to change as the year goes on. I think AAA rates come out later, but not sure. We never used AAA.

You can book a room only with either discount. If you decide on a package with AAA I believe you have to have an agent book it.

Yes, it is definately cheaper to book everything yourself. AAA might be limited with the kind of tickets you can get discounted, but again we have never used our AAA for the discounts. We buy our tickets (park hopper pluses usually) with our DC card discount when we check in and they become part of our room key.

Also, keep in mind if you get a package with Length of Stay Passes they expire when you leave. Park Hoppers are good forever.

Does anyone else know for sure when rates are released?

I know that the AAA discount for 2002 came out in the middle of July 2001 because I made a ressie with it as soon as it was released. The DC discount came out sometime in the fall. Availability changes all the time, so if you can't get a discount right away, keep calling back and you should eventually get one.

We cancelled our AAA package for Dec. 2002. It was not much of a deal. We booked AAA room only for the same time period Nov. 30 to Dec. 7th 2002 thru CRO and got a 20% off rate for Poly and AKL. Sence it is room only and I went thru CRO I can pay balance at checkin and go for a cheaper rate if and when they come out in Sept. or so. I will probably purchase the tickets thru AAA unless I can get them cheaper somewhere else. The 2002 AAA rates came out June or July of 2001...smjj
