I am a Disney Club member and want to make reservations for January 2004 at Pop Century (hopefully) through the special DC phone number. My question is, since DC will no longer exist after Dec. 31, 2003, which cancellation policy would be in effect for my reservations? Is there anything strange that anyone else has encountered as a result of the DC ending?

Thanks!

You can still use the DC phone number but you will be booked at rack rate through WDTC unless you book a room only reservation and request it with the 6 day cancellation policy. There are no DC rates available for 2004 reservations.

Oops...re-reading my question I can see that I wasn't completely clear as to what I was asking. I'm not going to try to book a DC rate (it's not usually worth it anyway). I'm planning on using the code for the $55/night rate.

I have just booked through the DC in the past (even without a DC rate) because of the 800# and because of the much more liberal cancellation policy. I wanted to do this again but didn't know if they would still honor the cancellation policy if the reservation was in 2004.

I hope that makes sense.

Yes, it makes sense. Since the DC will not be around in 2004, neither will their reservation and cancellation policies. Anything they make for you now for 2004 will have the regular WDTC or CRO policies depending on which system you get booked with.

I just booked for Jan 2004, by calling the DC number (although they didn't ask me to put in my DC number or ask for it anytime during the conversation), and I got the nice cancellation..I believe it was 5 days prior, not 6. I had to put down one night as a deposit.

Thanks DMRick! I know it's not much, but it sure is nice to be able to call an 800 number when you're on hold for 20-25 minutes. I'll give it a shot and see what happens.

Then you have a CRO room only reservation. Had you been able to book it as a DC reservation, it would have been $100 down payment and balance due 21 days prior.

BTW, the cancellation policy for CRO is prior to the fifth day which means it's actually up to 6 days. You cancel on the fifth day before you arrive and you lose the deposit. That changed about two years ago. But people do still call it the "5 day cancellation" policy. Old habits are hard to break.
