we are staying offsite at a townhouse in windsor hills. we made ressies for this christmas and the owners were wonderful in letting us change them to next year.

i am so excited. but i have to have this baby first!

Dimples1973. are you looking for a value moderate or deluxe resort? Idont think you will have a problem changing reservations if a code comes out I would go ahead and book as soon as you choose where to stay. as far as adjoining rooms from what Ive read on the boards disney will do their best to make sure you get what you need Idont see you having any problems as far as that goes. It was amazing to see so many older couples at disney and I mean couples that were well in their 70 s when we were on our last trips and they seem to be enjoying it just as much as anyone else. disney really is for all ages! Im sure your inlaws will love it! this is the one place in the world that is so family orrientated you cant go wrong! Check out cirque it may be something you may like to add to your plans it is truely an amazing show and worth the price to see it! have fun planning!:surfweb:

When I booked my trip a couple of weeks ago, the CM I spoke to told me that if a discount came out, I would be able to call and have it applied to my reservation. So I'm hopping he knows what he is taking about and I can really do that. I have read on the boards that if you have them make a note on your reservation that you would like connecting rooms they will try to accomadate your request. I'm so excited, my reservation confirmation came in the mail yesterday. He even noted on the reservation that it is my mom's first visit and that it will be my DD's 13th birthday. I thought that was so nice of him since I didn't tell him for that reason, we were just talking about why I couldn't use the pin code that I was emailed.

This is so hard to decide.:confused3
I have been pouring over the boards and doing a pros and cons list for when to travel. We are restricted to the Peak seasons to travel because DH is a teacher. Now I am torn between last two weeks of August 2009 and Christmas (Dec.23- Jan 01)2009.
I am not a fan of the heat, but free dining and cheaper flights in August appeal to me. Christmas has a special draw but I am concerned of the crowds on Christmas. The UG says parks can be closed because of capacity during that week.

What are your suggestions? :worship:

If I have to pick either August or Christmas to go to WDW, I would go during Christmas. The crowd isn't really all that bad as long a you plan ahead and I rather deal with the crowd than the heat. Beside you won't able to see this in August.

dimples1973 I vote december even though we have been going in september and this is our first december trip.I have cousins that go the last few weeks in august and have said it was really to hot and crowded ., they have gone the last 3 years at that time and say the weather really can have an impact on how the kids can handle the parks. Just that they didnt have much choice on the dates to go so they were stuck on going at that point in time but wouldnt recommend it if you have the choice. I found september was good no crowds and weather was okay as well i would go at that time again no problem! but how could you possibly beat disney world plus christmas all rolled into one! Icant imagine a more magical time to see disney! Cant see how you could go wrong with december. the little bit of extra cost is well worth it if your going to put that much into disney you might as well go all the way the cooler weather and less crowds will be worth the money you spend. go for DECEMBER!:yay:

The first time that we went was the last week of August 2007 and boy was it hot. It's humid hot. Hot I can handle but the humidity was unbelievable. I would shower in the morning before we left for the parks and when we left our room, I would be drenched. I had a lovely glow. I also didn't find the crowds all that bad even with the free dinning, because the kids in Florida start school a week before our kids. I still really enjoyed myself because I went with the attitude that we would not be able to see or do everything and I built breaks into our plan but it was still hard. That being said I would still go again in August if I had to. But if I had to make a choice I would pick December. This trip we're doing December because of the Christmas decorations and because it is cooler. I really like Christmas so I'm really looking forward to the decorations since Disney does everything so well.

just realized that you said you would be at wdw right over the christmas holidays, yes from all that is said it is VERY busy and crowded but I would still choose to go in December. you just have to take things in stride being at wdw on christmas day would be so magical i may even plan to be there for xmas next year the crowds wont scare me away! just all the more wonderfull people to enjoy the holiday with one BIG DISNEY family, all sharing that same special day! I say go for it! have fun planning!

We went last Christmas Dec 24 to Dec 31. We loved it. The weather was beautiful. I did not bring shorts, just capris. I had to go buy shorts and we wore them all day, even until 1 in the morning. The week after we left, I heard it got pretty cool. But we loved it so much that I have been planning a Christmas trip for us and my DH's family... 15 of us. Dec 26/ 08 to Jan 5 / 09
My family of 4 was just there for 16 days in July, but if we can afford it, we will be there every Christmas. We can only go during the busy times as well. But like other people have said, as long as you plan and go with the idea of it will be busy and you may not get everything done that you want, you will have a great time. Christmas day last year MK & Epcot closed due to crowds. We had TGM's plans and knew not to go there, so we went to DHS and had a great time. I thought it would be crazy at DHS with the overflow of people coming there that could not get into the two closed parks, but not at all. We did not get there till 10 a.m., did a few rides and a show. Had our traditional pretzel and took a break. We left with 4 sets of fast passes. We then went back to DHS for the evening as well and rode all our fast pass rides very quickly, plus a couple more. Went watched the osbourne lights, it was magical. 89 more sleeps till 15 of us are there again!!!!!!

we're going to disney dec 11 to 25. it's our first time going anywhere during the holidays. so i'm really excited. but i was wondering if it was very busy the few days before xmas, dec 22-23-24???
