Hey all!

As many of you may know, last year I started a thread on the Trip Planning forum for Disney during Christmas. It included strategies, planning tips, etc.

As some of you may know, I planned on writing a book this year. Well, while it may be later than planned, I have finished!

I'm offering it free of charge - no strings attached. I wanted to share my love for Disney and the excitement of Christmas in Disney with everyone! It's available for download at survivedisxmas.com!

I'm really excited about this. I hope this doesn't get deleted or come off as self promotion. Again, I'm NOT selling anything - just offering a free book that I wrote out of the kindness of my heart. I hope anyone going this year or planning on going one year will give it a read!!

Thanks so much for this! This will be our actual first Christmas "trip" :cool1: (we usually just do day visits during the holiday season) and I'm gobbling up all the information I can. I'm already on page 13 and enjoying your book :-)

Thank you! :thumbsup2 We just planned another Christmas trip and the information will come in handy.

Thanks so much!
Arriving on December 26 and leaving on Disney Dream on December 29.
I just printed this out and can't wait to read and sent to my mom and sister, who will also be on the trip.

Thanks so much PlutoTheDog89, I can't wait to read this, and thanks for forwarding this link to me DD js :goodvibes

Karen :)

Thank you so much, that was very nice of you. I leave on December 2, I'm going with my family some of who have never been to disney at christmas time. Can't wait to read this.

Thanks! We are doing our first Christmas trip this Decemeber so this is very helpful :)

All,

I'm going to be hosting a Christmas DIScussion right here on DISboards! The discussion will take place Saturday, November 1st from 12pm-2pm ET.

I'll be answering questions and discussing Christmas at Disney! The thread will stay "live" and I will continue to answer questions sporadically following the discussion.

Get your questions and suggestions ready! I'd love as much input as possible!

Make sure to download my book survivedisxmas.com!

Remember to check out my book at survivedisxmas.com!

Join in on the Christmas DIScussion on Saturday, Nov. 1st at 12pm!

This is very timely - for three decades I'd done WDW in the off season. (My very first trip in 1976 was during Spring Break.) Now that my daughter is school aged, we're locked into going during school breaks.

This past trip in June was an on-season trip. Although the crowds weren't bad (except in the MK) the humidity nearly did us all in. We've been talking about doing a Christmas trip next, even though the crowds will be huge, just to avoid that nasty summer weather.

Thanks for sharing about your book!

Hey Kristina,

Glad I could help! Your family sounds very similar to us! My mom has a ton of vacation days, my sister is a teacher (so she gets school breaks) and my dad is retired. I'm now employed. When we started for going for Christmas, I was in college. Now I just save my vacation days for my Christmas vacation!

We used to go during July! Between the crowds and the tour groups, the wait times were crazy! Add in the humidity and heat and it was unbearable. I fear that's what turns so many people away during Christmas. So many people experience Disney during July. It's crowded, it's sticky and no one wants to wait an hour to get on a ride in the heavy heat! To be honest - it's very crowded during December - much more than July.. but the weather makes it more bearable. I don't mind standing in line for an hour if the sun is shining and it's 60 degrees outside! Especially when I check the weather and it's 30 in New York!

As a reminder, my Christmas DIScussion is tomorrow - Nov. 1st at 12pm! Bring your questions or suggestions!
