Disney Christmas Party

If you've never done it, I think it's worth trying it out at least once. I've done the Halloween party in 2018 and the Christmas party in 2019 and I liked both, but much prefer the Christmas party. I definitely thought it was worth the price of admission.

Are you referring to the DVC Christmas dinner? I did it the year before last at Grand California and I would say once is enough. The food was OK at best and they sit you at a table with other guests so it is a bit of a crap shoot. The characters were dressed in bedtime attire which was pretty cool and the dueling piano with Disney music was a lot of fun but for the money there might be other alternatives.

I think OP is referring to MVMCP.

Agree with some previous responses - do some research about it and what it is, and if it still interests you, give it a try. That's the only way to know. People seem to love it or hate it, and you won't know how you feel until you experience it. DH and I have done it maybe twice (in 30+ trips to WDW) and we personally find that it isn't for us, for a variety of reasons. In the last few years, people have reported that it seems more crowded than ever. But, as noted by disneydentist, there are some unique experiences available only at MVMCP, and, if you want to focus on those and not rides, that may appeal to you

My family of 5 went last year, and we loved it. We focused on the unique party experiences, like parade, characters, shows, and, of course, "free" cookies and snacks. We also did some of the special rides that were themed for the holidays (Jingle Cruise, Tomorrowland Speedway, Space Mountain, etc).

Full disclosure: we were at a sold out party and we still had an awesome time.

Also, my 5 yo son had an awesome character interaction with Peter Pan where he taught him how to fight pirates and dubbed him an honorary Lost Boy.

It's a great way to get into the Christmas spirit!

Is the Christmas party more crowded the closer you get to Christmas or does in calm down the week before?

We found it to be very very busy. We loved the fireworks and Christmas parade but all we got to do was watch a few rides, first parade and fireworks. We spent time saving our seats for both of those. We have little kids, I would do it again if DH and I were kid free without stroller and could stay and hang after the fireworks. The cookie lines appeared long but they moved very quickly
