Disney Chase Visa Question

ok all you DISers out there...DH and I have a Disney Chase VISA and have no concept of what or how to use the Disney points, so can someone point us in the right direction for some knowledge on this I would like to us them if I can when we go to Disney this summer

We will be using our points to purchase our parkhoppers through the disney website.

So for your vacation this summer, you can use your points for entrance tickets, meals, souveniers, and I *think* even hotel stay if staying on property
You can also use them ahead of time on the disney shopping site to purchase shirts, dvds, toys, anything.

It took me quite a while to figure out how to get a rewards points card and get the points on it though. I had to log into my account on line. Order a rewards points card and add at least 20 points to it. (points transferred expire December of the next year) Now that I have my card, I can call and have any amount (above 10) points transferred to my card.

so do you have to get a rewards card first? so any purchases that I already have made on my Disney Visa Card do not count towards a rewards card? I am having trouble opening the site and this si the kind of inforamtion I am looking for~

1. so any purchases I have alreayd made do not count towards a reward card?

2. I need to get a rewards card as soon as possible?

3. are the purchases basically dollar for point? i.e. 1 dollar spent on your Visa is = to 1 reward point?

4. if this is true, can we use it towards upgrading to an annual pass while at the park?

The money you've spent has been accumulating points already. You should be able to see on your statement how many points you have, or you can call. You can be "issued" a rewards card once you have some points to put on it. It's basically like a gift card that chase sends you. The points system is 1 point for every $100 you spend and 1 point is equal to $1.

You can also call them. Go onto Chace Disney site. You can check your rewards. You then have to call them and they will send you a card with your reward points dollars on them. Has to be at least $20. I used mine last year had $100 on it. It's actually pretty nice. I think we used it for food or toys. You can't use it say at the Rainforest Cafe must be a Disney store or establishment. We were able to use it at World of Disney.

I'll add a question!

I see someone posted "Points expire the December after they are transferred."

I'm assuming:
1) "transferred" means that you requested your VISA card points to be transferred to your REWARD card?
2) If you don't want to transfer points to your REWARD card, and you just want to keep building up points that won't expire, you just DON'T do a transfer to your REWARD card--that way you can just keep building up points on your VISA card and wait a few years and make a big ol' transfer all at once?
Or...do the points that you've earned (by spending money/charging things) on your VISA card eventually expire?

They do expire at some point, but it's not for a long, long time. I know if I look at our statement it says when the points that have will expire and I want to say it's in like 2012. So you can save them for years, but only so many years.
