this feels like a really dumb question, but can I refer myself to a Disney visa? I have the regular Disney visa at the moment, and racked up several hundred dollars towards my vacation rather quickly. I was thinking I could refer myself to the premier version of the card and repeat the process. Would this work?

also, so sorry for the typos. My phone is crashing trying to type this out. I guess apple doesn’t want me to get another visa haha

You can only refer for the card you actually have. So if you have the no fee version, the referral you generate will be for that card. Usually if you apply for a 2nd of the same card you may not be eligible for the sign up bonus anyway, if they even allow more than one application for the same card. Have to read the details of the bonus.

Don't think you can apply through your own referral. Would be awesome if you could. I know you have posted on the 'I love credit cards' thread before. If you do decide to apply for the Disney card, we have reddit group that you could join. We all help each other out using each other's 'support' links :)

Sorry to hijack thread but do you find the benefits worth it? I am thinking about opening one. We are going on a Disney Vacation in Aug and have been discussing it. The perks look good but I can't tell if they are worth it.

The $200 off $500 initial offer was good enough for me to get one. There’s no annual fee so it’s fine if we don’t use it much. It takes a while to accumulate dollars unless you spend a lot on credit cards. You only get 1% back on purchases and I can do better with discover card. I think you have to decide if the benefits for this card outweigh what you currently have. You do save a percentage at Disney restaurants (so if you don’t do the DDP that would be a great benefit). Interest free on packages for 6 months may also help you out.

The $200 off $500 coaxed me into trying it out. I'm going to use this card exclusively for the months leading up to my October vacation to see if it gives me a few extra "Disney Dollars" for the trip, then go back to my air miles card. I'm planning to take advantage of the 15% off tours, restaurant discounts etc...

The initial sign up bonus is good, but the ongoing earnings rate is not. There are better cash back cards that you can get to earn money towards a Disney vacation or even better points cards that you can get to earn value towards vacations. If you are interested in other cards, head over to the "I love credit cards" thread and we will be happy to help out with questions on the best cards for your situation.
