The price point is too high, IMO. Other than that, I like it. I think maybe $20 or $25 would be more reasonable.

(Honestly, for the $50/person/day, with a minimum of three days, each guest should be receiving an unlimited number of Anytime FP+... the ones that basically function like Universal's Unlimited EP. Now that I'd pay $50/person/day for, probably for the entire length of my trip!)

But, but, but .... this is going to blow some minds! It is getting harder and harder to say, "But at Disney they don't ......"

Now we can say that Universal offers it unlimited for FREE at their deluxe hotels and you don't even need to stay Club.....bahahahahaha!

I thought this was interesting. For so long, people derided Universal for selling EP and swore up, down, and sideways that Disney would never create "classes" like UO. At least EP can be purchased by any park patron - Disney is only offering the extra to club level guests.

This is just the beginning.

It’s bound to be brought out for everyone to buy “extra” FP eventually ........we always thought this was in the plans eventually anyway......

It’s a sure fire money maker........

Price point is hard to determine. The article leaves it ambiguous. "The additional Fastpasses will cost $50 per person, per day, according to Disney." How many is that?

And forcing a 3-day minimum on the package means $150 pp for a family of four is $600 extra. Still need to know how many FP+ you are getting for that cheddar.

The little devil on my shoulder is whispering, "$105 per person to enter a Disney World Park, and you need to pay another $50 to ride the rides."

I read (in some article that I no longer have a link to, sorry!!! ) that it would be another three, with a clarification that they could be "used in any park." Now that I think more on that, it actually could add a WHOLE LOT of value if you could pre-book FP+ at 60 days for two different parks on the same day.... hmmmmm......

90 days for this... Not just 60.

The price point on the Extra FP although high would probably interest quite a few people.

However, I priced out a Club Level room at Poly for our typical Dec. dates and its $219 per night more than a standard room. And the standard room is already laughable in price.

So assuming you would pay to stay at the Poly for a family of 4 it's $419 extra per night for CL and 3 extra FP's. :rolleyes1

CL at the UO Deluxe resorts typically is $80-$100 per night and most here would argue is better than Disney. :duck:

Other articles I've seen say it's 3 extra Fastpasses. And people who add this to a package can book FP at 90 days out versus 60.

They are all in the business to make money. Disney could not offer EP like Universal does to all of it's deluxe hotels. Far too many rooms and guests. It will sell at this price point. All you have to do is look at the people who pay for all the other extras at Disney to know it will work. I like Disney and Universal. My complaint with Disney is that I feel like WDW guests get gouged and then the extras and money gets shifted to support and upgrade other Disney parks around the world. You know they are making money hand over fist, but I am not seeing it being put back into WDW like it should be to keep my family coming back and paying those prices.

Disney world stresses me out. We are Disneyland people. We like maxpass and I pray to god Disneyland never changes to having to book fast passes in advance.

We are headed to universal this fall and hubby asked if I wanted to do a magic kingdom while there. That would be a no. It’s so overwhelming to me. We are staying at Royal pacific and having the unlimited express is the perfect for staying at their hotel is the perfect draw for me. Staying at your hotel having to book club level and pay $50 more a person A DAY to just get 3 more?? No way!

Have to say we aren't happy about this. Not only will we now be competing with the other hotels that Disney has added to the mix for fast passes, but the folks getting the 90 advantage will definitely put us at a disadvantage.

That is huge and to your original point about 'classes' of people, I am concerned. LVSWL has it right. We are now competing against a select few who have enough money to control more that their share of ride availability. Man, I miss being the runner in the family for paper fastpasses...

I wish I could come to the Universal parks more often, but since I value the Unlimited EP, I will not stay at a resort that doesn't include it. So... I wait to take another Universal vacation until I can afford to pay for the options that are the best fit for me. I don't feel resentful towards those who can afford to stay at the deluxe resorts more often than I can.

Similarly, if having access to additional FP+ is a priority, a family could choose to wait until they can afford a trip that includes it. In fact, that's exactly what I'm thinking with this news... I have only stayed at value and moderate resorts at Disney, but this additional perk might make it worth it to me to put off our next Disney trip until we can make it work to stay CL at a Disney deluxe resort, assuming that this continues to be offered.

There will ALWAYS be someone else who can afford to travel more often than you (and me!), to take advantage of more VIP experiences than you (and me!), etc.

I get this but I think what makes it a hard pill to swollen is on top of paying for the club level room you then still have to shell out the additional 50 per person per day. It doesn’t come with the room.. the room comes with the ability to pay more.
