Disney Charged my CC for CRT instead of Dining Plan

Hello fellow dis members.

I added a CRT ADR last week, I remember logging into my user name to attach my dining plan to my reservation. However when I checked my credit card this past weekend they charged me for the reservation instead of just using the CC to hold the reservation. I called disney twice and the was told by both CM that I have to cancel that reservation then try to make a new reservation that will attach to the dining plan, However the whole time I will be in WDW it is all booked solid except for one day where there is an 8:30 dinner (traveling with 3 1/2 DD and 18 month DS) I dont think that will work, its close to DS bedtime.

The second CM told me I can keep the original reseravation and that when I go to dinner for my original reservation I can ask if they could charge it to my dining plan and they can credit my credit card for the amount charged.

What do you think I should do?
I have research the topic and seemed like some people have been able to get their CC credited. I just dont know if I want to chance it but then again, I dont want to lose the reservation.

We had an issue last year where when we originally booked the trip, I paid by cc for CRT. Then 4 of our party of 7 cancelled. So I had to call and cancel and get my cc refunded. About a week later, we decided to add DDP, so I told them that I had already paid for CRT. They were able to switch it to my DDP and credit my cc back at that time. I think it took two billing cycles to be refunded, but it was definitely refunded before I went on my trip. I would call again and speak to someone else. I think it may have been a supervisor that did it, but I don't remember for sure.

Don't worry about it . Keep your existing reservation and when you get there, tell your server right away that you will be using your Dining Plan and they will issue a refund to your CC. They do it all the time, we just did it in February, in fact. Same thing applies to the Hoop De Doo and the Luau. Anything you can pay for with DDP credits they can and do switch out if you ask them to.

I did this over the phone in May they issued the refund to the CC
