Disney Channel Games 2008???

We went yesterday to pick up our tickets. We got field as we asked and they gave me a 2nd parking confrirmation so that my son could drive him and his GF over just as the concert begins because they will be going to one of the parks earlier. Wonderful people at the ticket window. I know they are ready for the day they are finished with the tickets. There were people coming up to the window and asking if there were more tickets because they heard that some of the tickets were turned back in. The response was to come back on Thurs. at 8:30 am and check.. Confusing because I thought that any that weren't picked up would be redistributed to those on email waiting list? Anyhow....

We were late because of an accident on 75 where I sat not moving for 30 minutes and picked up DD's late.

When we got there the girls were excited and were certainly not "up front" but they were able to see a little of the teams with the help of binoculars. Crowd was there, but not what it sounds like will be there Thurs.

The girls got to see stars and that was what was important. My older DD did take out her cell phone because she was texting her Best Friend and security asked her to put it away. Although, a woman in front of her at a different spot was snapping pictures with a full on camera with the lense extended and nothing was said. I guess it just depends on who you are taking of and what security is there. Personal opinion, if Disney asked that no pictures be taken, why not respect their wishes? Unless you feel that the rules don't apply to you. Hope that's not too offensive to some, but I am a rules person and don't like it when I follow rules but others think that they are above and the rules don't apply to them.

Also, I thought that the teens and tweens were ok. Only had one mom be rude to my DD when she screamed when the JB's came out. Maybe that mom had been there all day and was to her limit.

We did not really get autographs because we were so late and making sure to get our concert tickets was priority. We didn't take things in to get signed. But people were getting autographs.

It was an enjoyable experience and I hope it is not ruined for Thurs. or for next year.

the team lineup was posted by a fan not disney or hal to begin with, as well as pictures with the kids in their team colors and on youtube videos' of the stars on the field. yes the information is already out but it wasn't suppose to let out this year because so many people wasn't interested in the DCGAMES when they aired last year.

I do not want to get into a debate about this... but even if pictures are NOT taken, people still have a voice! The colors would have "leaked" by word of mouth, either by a fan or cast member at some point!!! THERE IS NO WAY THIS INFO WOULD HAVE REMAINED A SECRET UNTIL JULY!!!!!! And considering we are in an age of computers, Disney already knows this!!!

I agree that the kids were not bad, even when the JB came out and it was pandemonium, when the bigger kids came for an autograph and I told her my DD7 was in front they took it easy.
I do expect there to be more people Thursday.

think about it

if you have a team of people that have worked their rump off, and are trying to make a sale and someone on that team starts putting stuff on the internet of details of how they are going to make the sale, then the competition see's that information, and then they offer a better deal to the same client, do you think your team would get the sale? Probably not, but in furture sales you would get rid of the person that leaked the information.

right now the people that have been invited in have leaked the information, that they didn't want known.

Do you think we will be allowed in Next year to the DCGAMES? not.
we have heard rumors they are NOT GOING TO GOING TO OPEN THE GAMES UP TO PUBLIC NEXT YEAR . They have already closed Friday.


I will comment on the games now.


We went Monday some of us disers meet, we were all talking about the games.

I can only speak for myself and my dd14.

I went last year and Had a ball.


however,I was disappointed this year about several areas.

1.Monday - The field had the media tents where the games were played last year. It was blocking the views, unlike last year, but you can still see in certain areas. The large Tv screens were not play so we could see the games on them

Tuesday - this has not changed, and it probably will not change until Sat.
WE WERE TOLD THIS BY DISNEY AND HAL.
The screens were showing the actual games being played.

2. MONDAY - the areas near the bleachers were blocked off, unlike last year.
my dd14 got 22 autograph's and stayed in one spot all day and got into the interviews with the star's and it will be brodcasted on TV.

3.Monday - alot of kids stayed out of school to come to the games, and to see certain people on the field, some parents were dropping off kids and leaving. What's up with that? I wouldn't leave mine. The kids were running from place to place causing a saftey hazard, pushing, and knocking down people. They also were climbing over the fence getting up on top of the dugout which is dangerous, to get to the stars. (It was scaring the stars and the managers didn't let the stars get near them) they were acting like idots.
Let's just say sercurity had their hands full. I know the kids were excited but these no call for that. I'd be whipping some bottom's if it was my kid. If some of these girls got close to the jonas brothers I believe they would of tore their clothes off of them.

Tuesday- the crowd was a better crowd today, not as much running around or let's just say it was more controable today. not as crowded. The girls were still screaming and excited, which is expected. there were a few that would of them that would of tore clothes off but not many. They got excorted out, for saftey concerns.
The stars had no problem signing today at all not the jobrs, and yes when they sign big rob is with them.
DD14 got the jobros autographs twice, I event got me some.

you don't want me to even get started on the cameras and cell phones.
but tuesday they were letting people use their phones to takes some pictures after taping, but you had to ask permission and if you took pics with your phone and didn't get permission, they stop you. they were some people that got stopped on the way out to have theier deleted.if they catch you with a regular cameras you will be ask to take it to your car, and or leave.

so what I trying to say is some bad apples spoil the whole bacth.

even though I was disappointed Monday it grew on me by Tuesday and was a little better.

my child had fun monday and tuesday and I did on Tuesday. I gues that's what counts.

I would like to thank Disney for letting me be a part of this once or maybe twice in a lifetime opportunity to interact with the stars.

I understand that information would of been leaked and that is fine, but I also see you have pictures and are posting them. so I can see where you would have a problem with my views.

it says in front of the stadium not to bring in any recording devices and/or cameras. thats all I'm saying. do you think you don't need to follow the rules.
or if you have pictures don't post them on the internet.

I'm not trying to be ugly, I'm a Disney person, I love disney, I do live in Alabama we have been down here 16 times in last two years and have several more trips planned this year. I give disney alot money every month, and the benifits I recieve, I enjoy. I don't like them being taken away for people who can't abide by the rules. If you will look in some prior post's you will find hal's blog or post and it will tell you disney wasn't going to announce the team colors yet, and i know it could of been leaked, but don't you think it should of been Disney's call instead of someone else's? If it's empolyees that are leak things they can and do get fired.

This is a big deal per mangement and our ability to abide by rules to even be able to do this next year. Because you can't tell one person not to do it and then let someone else do it. so if they decide people cant follow the rules or leak information, will they let us do it next year.

It's all or nothing it's the Disney way

I didn't bring in my camera, I brought my cell phone, and before I took any pics I asked a security person and he said that cameras and video cameras weren't allowed but it was OK to take pics with your cell-phone. They don't want you taking pics of the production itself, but a celeb with your kid is OK with a cell phone.
Also as I said in my trip report. I saw a lady with a digital camera taking pics right next to a security guy. And he said to her "I didn't see anything".
So I did check before hand and security is more concerned about the actual games being photographs than the stars themselves.

They said no cameras last year too! They searched my bag and saw my disposable camera in there and never said a word. DISNEY KNOWS THAT THERE WILL BE PICTURE TAKING!!!! This is also a form of "public relations" and believe me, FREE publicity!!! I know that when we returned last year, my daughter shared her photos with hundreds of people who never heard of the DCG before, and she promoted them! They all were eager to watch them over the summer and all called to say they actually saw my DD on TV!!! So sometimes "bending the rules" works well for Disney too! Just my opinion...

according to the tv gudie thingy it is june first but this is only suppose to be the opening ceremoines, if it was like last year they will only show snippets and maybe 30 min. sections, through out the whole summer. maybe starting in July
