Someone told me about this place that is Disney affiliated where you can stay, and still have transportation to the parks. I can't find any info. on it. Anyone familiar? :confused3

The town of Celebration was owned by Disney. It isn't anymore but they didn't provide transportation to the parks.

My first thought is the Swan and Dolphin - they are not owned by Disney, but they offer some of the Disney perks: free Disney transportation (bus and boat), free parking at the parks and the extra magic hours at the parks - just by showing your room key. They don't offer the free dining, but I can attest that the Swan was a great hotel and so convenient to Epcot and MGM - we walked to the hotel after Epcot closed. You can also walk across the street to play the mini-golf course.

check it out - great govt. employee rates for us. :thumbsup2

There is the Celebration Hotel in the town of Celebration which is a Disney good neighbor hotel (similar status as the non-Disney hotels in DTD). They do offer shuttle service to WDW as do many area hotels, but you should check with them first to see if their transportation would suit your needs.

They are an absolutely lovely boutique hotel right on the lake in the town of Celebration, about 5-10 minutes drive from WDW. I can highly recommend the hotel, particulary for an adult-only trip.

You are definitely thinking of Celebration -- it's not that far from DW, and very pretty. It also has a post office if you need to do more then just mail a few things.

It is a little Truman Show-esque, though, if you ask me :-)

Anyone have a link to info.? I can't find it anywhere! Thanks

Here is a link to the Celebration Hotel website:

Mousesavers usually offers a good discount price for the hotel, so check their website. When my husband and I stayed there, the mousesavers rate was the best available, which was even confirmed by the hotel staff.

The town is a real town, so you won't find a link to it as if it is an attraction. An older website is at http://www.celebrationfl.com/ but I don't think it has been updated in a while.

The town is very charming with a lot of good restaurants and some gift shops. Even if you don't stay at the hotel, it is worth a visit to eat, get a cup of coffee or have an ice cream and take a stroll around the lake.

Dont forget the hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd. They are right next to Downtown Disney and offer busses to all 4 theme parks.

I heard these are really nice at Christmas, they blow fake snow and everything. We were looking into other hotels there, like the Doubletree.

Has anyone stayed at these, any thoughts? I just don't know much about them. It says on the website they provide park transportation. They also have dining listed, but I don't know how close by it is.

Thanks again!

When I checked out the link it came up as the Doubletree Castle Hotel. If this is what you are asking about, I have not personally stayed there, but know exactly where it is. Its right on International Drive approx right in between Universal to the North and Sea World to the South. Close to a lot of things on I-drive, I know it provides a shuttle to Universal, unsure of WDW parks. Most off site shuttles, IMO have inconvenient times. They don't run constantly. To get to WDW its a 15 minutes drive, maybe less depending on traffic. To Universal its even closer. For most hotel reviews, I trust tripadvisor.com. I look everything up on there.

Is there a timeshare resort called celebration in the city also, or somewhere else? I think the resort is new. I am so confused about the resort.

The time share is not in the town - it is located down 192 somewhere - here's the link:

There are approx. four Doubletree hotels that I'm aware of here... these are the two that are closest to WDW:
