I saw a Disney Cat when we where on the Mark Twain Riverboat.

what a rare sighting ! did they look mean? I've heard some cats are mean looking..

Not so rare, the feral cat population at DL is fat and happy! It is not uncommon to see them at the end of the Hungry Bear seating area near the river and also I have seen them often around Frontierland by the shooting gallery, especially at night.

I have heard DL keeps them around to keep the rodent population in check.

I have seen them many times around the Hungry Bear. I have also seen them from the Mark Twain.

They do look plump and happy. We go in Oct or December when it is not too hot. They seem to injoy taking in the sun.

There are cats everywhere at Disneyland. You can often spot them in the landscaping if you look close enough, weaving in and out amongst the trees.

I would not suggest petting them. They are not your friendly little house cat with its shots, but it is their home.

I love looking for the Disney cats. Last week we saw one at the Autopia track. He came out of the bushes and sat in the middle of the track. I guess he wasn't very concerned about the 7mph cars "whizzing" by. In the spring I saw two of the cutest kittens playing on the track of Heimlich's Chew Chew Train. They were identical in markings except one was white and orange and one was white and black. I know Disney feeds the cats as I've seen the plates of food hidden in the bushes.

On tour, our CM told us the cats live in the old alpine Skyway to Tomorrow structure in Fantasyland. He even showed us the paper plates with cat food that the CMs at the Indiana Jones ride leave out for them every night. But I have also seen them at DCA too. They seem pretty tame, but I wouldn't try to pet them.

We saw a kitten while we were eating at White Water Snacks. It was in the trees just outside the window there.

ive seen them there a few years ago...two of them. me and my dh were eating kinda late, and we were the only ones there...they both came up to us and were sooooo friendly! i was scared to pet them at first, but they were rubbing up against our legs and were just toooo sweet. im a big animal lover so i fell in love with them right away:laughing:

Yes they do exist and here is one in Storybookland. Definately this Giant Cat scared away the inhabitants of Storybook land, because we did not see one person in the castles or homes about.

The boat guide carefully did not mention the cat during the tour.

We were riding the Casey Jr. Circus Train one night and as we crested the hill towards the castle a giant, black cat suddenly appeared. It was hilarious because it looked the village was being attacked by a giant cat!

We saw these pretty kitties in 2006 behind Whitewater Snacks while we were eating on the patio.

Last year we also saw one cat while we were on the Storybookland boat. It was sitting right in the middle of Agraba. I was really sad I didn't have my camera ready because it would have been a pretty funny shot.

We have also seen more cats at the Hungry Bear and near the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.

In March, the cashier at WWS told us about their resident kitty, who likes to come and stare interestedly at your food, especially if it's a tuna sandwich. :rotfl: She's apparently very friendly, and was pregnant at that time, so that was probably one of her kittens that the PP saw. The cashier said she'd been a bit scarce since the construction started, but they still saw her around sometimes. She said that customers would deliberately buy tuna sandwiches just so they could take out the tuna and feed the kitty, "as if she doesn't get enough to eat!" she laughed.

Must have been her baby we saw! :)

oOh, my apologies everyone.. I guess we've just never been around those areas where they normally roam ! I want to keep an eye out for them next time :)

My son and I saw a black & white one at DCA yesterday (Saturday 9/13) near the First Aid center. S/he appeared feral to me but certainly not to have been missing many meals!

I think the first time I saw a Disney cat was when I was in the vehicle for Pooh. It was in the bushes and I was like "a Disney cat!" I've always heard about them, but never saw them.
One New Year's after the clock struck 12, there were a couple at Plaza Inn and I waved to them and said hi.
I've also seen a few at Taste Pilot's Grill, which I heard is a popular spot. I waved to them too.
The most recent time was last month by BTM. I was walking past Rancho going towards BTM and I saw a fluffy orange cat sitting in the sand. I waved to it about a million times and said hi. Then it ran to the other side into the bushes and I couldn't find it. But then I looked at a tree nearby and saw a lizard! Then I decided to say hi and I waved to it. *True story* :cloud9: I love animals! I just regretted not speaking cat language (to the cat of course) and saying meow. :p
