Somone told me today that there is a room in the disneyland castle. I knew there was one in the DW castle where people could stay. SHe was trying to tell me that it was Walt suite.

Yes, your friend is correct. I think it might be called Walt's apartment though.

Walts appartment is located above the fire station though not in the castle. It has been restored to the way it was when it was Walt was alive and used it. When Walt was on the premesis he would turn a light on in the window so people would know that he was there. The light is still there and it remains on 24 hours a day since the day he passed.

I believe the room in the castle was created/used for the "Year of a Million Dreams" promotion a few years ago. One family a day would be selected to stay in the suite every night. Not sure what or if it's being used for now.:confused3

Yes, thiis is in Disneyland,.

Your friend is WRONG. Walt's apartment is above the DL Firestation. There is a 'Dream Suite' located above the Pirates ride where the Disney Gallery used to be located. There is no suite/apartment in the DL Castle.

Thats what I thought

I don't think your friend lied or anything. What they probably heard was that Walt's apartment at WDW was supposed to be in Cinderella's castle (where the dream suite is) and got confused when they told you about it. But yes DL his apartment is in the Fire Station and his apartment would've been in the Castle at WDW but unfortunetly he never got the chance to see it. :(

On a side note I've never heard of the Suite in POTC at DL. Learn something new every day!

sorcerormickey is correct. Walt's apartment is not in the cinderella castle. I know because there was a whole show about Walt on tv and they showed the apartment above the firestation on the main street of disneyland with the light on.

His apartment isn't in Sleeping Beauty Castle. It was supposed to be in Cinderella castle. This post made my post 100 percent valid!:rotfl2:

No but seriously it's a common mistake. DL:C is Sleeping Beauty. WDW Cinderella DLP is Sleeping Beauty as well I think....DL:Tokyo is an excat copy of WDW's Castle. I'm not sure which one is going to Shanghai though.:confused3

Am I correct about this? I thought I remembered reading that the room in the WDW castle used to be used by the WDW telephone operators. True?

DLP is indeed Sleeping Beauty --- "La Belle est Dormant" and I'm sure I'm saying that wrong in French, despite completing Rosetta Stone.

You can't walk through the castle in DLP but you can go upstairs and see stained glass windows with scenes from Sleeping Beauty and you can go into the cellar and meet Maleificent.....a "real" fire breathing dragon complete with cave, mist and fire. I think my son was 8 before he'd go in there....

You cannot eat in the DLP castle either; Cinderalla's Auberge is next door, complete with glass coach outside.
