Disney cartoons for video iPod. Where have I been?

I am officially NOT taking the portable dvd player to Disney next week. I downloaded a couple of Little Einsteins shows to the iPod and my DD (2 1/2) is obsessed. Do you realize how much smaller and the lighter the iPod is compared to the dvd player!?! The downside, mom & dad won't be able to listen to our own tunes, but we'll survive I am sure.

So, if you don't have a video iPod this is not a very economical option, but if you already have one this is...the best thing since sliced bread. :) at $1.99 an episode I can afford quite a few too.

I saw they have Higglytown Heroes, Kim Possible, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and some of the other non-cartoons available too...and my favorite show (non-Disney) Stargate SG-1. :thumbsup2

I am so excited, now what else can I do to "downsize" my packing list?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE  my video ipod. Not only do I use it at home, work and the gym, I take it on every trip with me. No need to take the portable dvd player and a mp3 player/cd player, this does both. :thumbsup2

The other great thing is I am always busy and never home to watch tv. There are some shows (Desperate Housewives!) that I have only watched on my ipod and would have never seen otherwise! (Since my boyfriend hasn't figured out how to hook up my tivo yet!! :rotfl2: )

Have I mentioned that I LOVE my ipod? :dance3:

You can also get classic disney cartoons -- I even find my DH watching them on his ipod!

I am with ya. My son is into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and I am hoping he will be content watching that on the plane from my ipod. Are dvd player is staying home. I just need to remind him that only mommy and daddy can hold it. It is an expensive toy for a 2 1/2 year old.

We are bringing both DVD and iPod- it is great because ds4 can watch the iPod and dd2 will watch the DVD since they will both be in car seats and probably need to sit by the window!

I know this is a Disney board, but you can also download Nick Jr. shows- we have Blues Clues and Dora, along with Little Einsteins and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. A nice variety for the plane!

How do you charge it on the go? I just bought on and it doesn't come with an adapter?? :confused3 Am I going to have to bring my laptop along to charge it? Seems a little convoluted...

We bought a separate wall charger, I don't remember how much it was, maybe $20. They really should come with one. I think my husband bought another $100 worth of accesories on top of buying the iPod itself. But like so many crazy things he buys, they get old to him and now I get to enjoy it :) He is such a kid.

I had also considered the thing that connects a camera to it to store photos...but then we found a good deal on a 1 GB compact flash cards, that baby holds lots of photos.

Yeah, I went out and bought a AC Charger too, so I didn't have to bring my laptop. I got it at BJs and it also came with a car charger. Think it was about 30 bucks for both. You can get a charger anywhere they sell iPods, it is a pretty popular accessory. I can't believe it didn't come with one. The older versions did.

Yeah, accessories add up. I had to have a case for it. Was thinking of getting the camera adaptor too, so I could get the pictures off my camera card while down there, but DH is talking about lugging the laptop anyways, so I am not going to spend the $30 for it.
