A friend has offered to give me some of his Disney points earned on his credit card. Can anyone let me know if I have this right. He would redeem his points to a card to be sent to him by Chase. Can these Disney dollars then be used to add to my OBC by my TA that will be in my name and not his?

My mom gave me a reawards card for Christmas that I used on a cruise. There was no problem using it:)

He should go to the Disney Store and buy a card with the card Chase sends him. The Reward Card is somehow linked to his credit card number, according to the CS reps I spoke with when I ordered my card. He should keep the Reward card, because he can just call and have points put on it as dollars instantly from now on.

You are able to get more than 1 rewards card for each Disney Chase account you have. He doesn't need to get you a gift card

Correct, the cards are more like prepaid reloadable credit cards for use at Disney. You can keep earning points and have them applied to the same card. I too would suggest having the person buy you gift cards if that is an allowed purchase.

(800) 594-7999 is the cardmember service number on the back of the card to call with questions.

My mom got a disney card just so I could use her reward points and found out on our 2009 cruise that the TA couldn't use them toward our payment being they weren't in my name. :confused3 So I was too leary to take her reward card along and try to use it at guest services or in the park at a restaurnat being it didn't have my name on it. So this time I was going to have my mom get the rewards and then go online and get gift cards. Only bummer is I have to pay 5.00 to do that, but figured it was better than not using them at all. I could use them online to buy park tix, but don't need any at this time.

The rewards cards do not have a name printed on them like a typical credit card. I've used ours to pay for dinners at WDW without a problem even though it is in DW's name. There is however a place to sign on the back.

Thanks for all your good advice. Is it possible for him to get the card and then call DCL and have the dollars added to my OBC account before boarding the ship?

Oh, I never thought of that. I wonder why our TA said we couldn't do that then? Maybe because I said it wasn't mine? This time I will use mom's at WDW restaurants. Thanks for posting that! :)
