Disney cancelled my Wishes Dessert Party

I'm really trying not to freak out right now. :( I booked the Wishes Dessert Party for our December trip when my 180 day reservation window opened. Paid for it and thought I was good. A few weeks ago I got a call that fireworks had been moved up from 8p.m. to 7p.m. and my reservation needed to be modified. I returned the call, verified that I didn't need to do anything, and thought everything was okay............

Fast forward to today...pulled up my credit card statement, saw a credit in the exact amount that I had paid from Disney. Called Disney to see what was going on. Sure enough, someone cancelled my reservation and booked me at La Hacienda de San Angel in EPCOT for the same date and time?!! And my Dessert Party is gone from MDE. No email, phone call, or anything. That's not even the same park!

The supervisor is looking into what happened and I should be getting a call back within 24 hours. She is going to call the venue directly. Of course, when I look at the reservation availability there is NOTHING for our entire trip for the Dessert Party. This is an annual tradition for our family...we've done it every year for the last 4 years and I didn't even care about the price hike. I'm just so mad, sad, upset, disappointed...I did everything I was supposed to do and someone else made a mistake and didn't even bother to inform me. I'm hoping it can be fixed, but honestly, I'm not completely optimistic. My family will be devastated if I can't get it back.

I need some serious pixie dust pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

I am sorry that this happened. Devastated hopefully is an overstatement

What can you do if this cannot be rebooked? Maybe everyone picks an ornament? Or Wishes Cruise?

Good luck and I hope it can be reinstated

I am so sorry!!! I can't imagine how frustrating that would be. Don't loose hope. If the supervisor is not able to resolve the situation, I'd encourage you to write wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com. I was incredibly disappointed and frustrated with a dining situation that was clearly Disney's mistake. I wrote a kind, but very honest letter about how the situation impacted my attitude toward Disney. The guest communications team was amazing and went above and beyond to ensure the situation was corrected. Fingers crossed that you get your pixie dust!!!

I'm not sure I even get the logic in that move. You can't even see the fiber optic fireworks in San Angel can you?

This is one of my biggest fears...losing a reservation. I hope they get it worked out for you!!

No, it's not going to be the end of the world, but it will be very disappointing.

Thanks for the link. I will definitely follow up with guest services about this whatever the outcome is.

I know, right?!

Thanks, I will update everyone with what happens.

Oh no! Well, if I know Disney, they will make it right for you if they made a mistake.

Sending lots of Pixie Dust your way! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Please keep us posted on what happens!

No real update yet. I did receive a phone call this morning from the cast member handling this issue and she said that she was still waiting to hear back from the venue and would touch base with me Monday when she was back at work. I'm trying to be patient and allow the process to work. I appreciate that she is keeping me in the loop and seems genuinely interested in figuring this out for me. I'll let you know what I hear next week.

Sorry to hear about that! We just noticed the price hike -- and what a big hike it is. We cancelled our booking for January. $49 for a dessert buffet is crazy.

Problem solved. They were able to re-book me for the Dessert Party and cancel the reservation at San Angel. Whew! I am so grateful for the CM who worked on this for a week and kept me in the loop the entire time. I'll be emailing Disney today to share my experience.
