Disney cancelled my TSMM FP+... anyone else?

Just reason 3468 why prescheduling amusement park rides is a bad idea.

I'm sure this sort of last minute schedule change happened in years prior. But in years prior FPs didn't get distributed until the day of, so guests were less aware of it.

when we were there in october we didn't even use our FP+ because the line was out as far as where they used to have the FP kiosks. i knew that would take forever, so we missed out. maybe they are dropping some b/c they are booking too many?

The wait time from there to being on the ride is less than 15 minutes. It looks crazy but it really doesn't seem to be that much longer.

Late Night Secret: we learned a couple of years ago that the early closing time at Toy Story is only an estimated close time. They have to clear the area 15 minutes before the fireworks show is scheduled to start, so they can leave the ride open past the stated close time if the line is short.

Literally no one knows this, so it's very easy to ride at least 3 times in less than a half hour. The secret is to walk past the "closing early" sign and see if the gate is still open. If it is then you can get in line again. No FP+ needed.

This strategy works out really well during Star Wars weekends in June.

::yes::

Because Disney management is a mess right now, the right hand doesn't tell the left what it's doing.
Up until yesterday the closing times for both TSMM and GMR still showed with the park closing on the HUB (internal CM site) for next week, that will show how bad it is right now. It's sad and both the guests and front of the line CM is paying the price

This.

We had the same experience with the long line in October (it was even longer than the point you mentioned), but it actually moved very quickly. We were on the ride within about 10 minutes or so.
Same here. The line was all the way out even with the restrooms one time for FP :scared1: But it moved very fast. The standby line was 95 minutes, so we weren't complaining. It only took about 10-15 minutes to get through even from back there.

Can someone explain the fireworks? Is this a limited time thing and is it on days that there is no Fantasmic? I am goingin Dec and didn't know they ever did fireworks at HS.

In a $95 a day theme park, they're closing 2 of the 6 rides in the entire park an hour early for a fireworks show? Including the most popular ride in the park?

Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable...and yes, I know that hardly anyone pays for a 1 day ticket. Still Unbelievable.

What is the best viewing area for Star Wars fireworks? Still debating on whether to go to HS or not but this might be something good to see.

Fireworks and Fantasmic are both nightly. The fireworks are new and Star Wars themed, and started Dec 17th the night the new movie was opened.

We will be at Fantasia Gardens for a golf function on the evening of Tues. Jan 26. Is it possible to see the Star Wars fireworks from anywhere NOT in HS? Maybe even someplace where we could hear the music? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to plan a few things to do while we are in Orlando for the PGA Show and I am starting to get overwhelmed.
