Has this happened to anybody else? I made a reserv. at ASMo on 6/10 for July and I called to check on it 6/14 because they had the number in my party all wrong. I spoke with the CM for about a half-hour and told her this was my niece's first visit and loves Toy Story. I also requested a room then too. Everything seemed fine that day. Anyway, I called back 6/23 to pay for the room because the final deposit due date was 6/24. I was informed that my ressies had been cancelled due to non-payment on 6/14(the supposed due date). And now, they will not reinstate my ressies for ASMo because it is sold out! I am so upset about this whole mess! I faxed them yesterday ($8.97) my conf. letter showing the date of 6/24, but right now, I don't have a "real" reserv. I have 2 other families coming for this trip! Does anybody have any suggestions?

Hi there..

If you indeed have a confirmation showing the payment date as 06/24 - it was definately not your fault and I am sure they will look after you somehow.

I hope you had a specific contact at reservations to fax it to and that they will call you soon.

My rate changed mysteriously - and they basically said I was making it up - that it was impossible.

A couple of days later the confirmation arrived with the rate I was quoted and I called back - they had me fax it and grudgingly gave me the original rate saying how lucky I was and that it was a computer glitch - well I know of 2 other DIS'ers who got the same rate!!

Hang in there

Keep the faith. As long as you have your confirmation i can't see there being a problem. make sure you speak with a manager or someone of authority once they get your fax. i wish you good luck and pixie dust.

and don't worry some good comes out of all things. just for instance a girlfriend of mine had reservations (and confirmation) at the grand floridian (standard room). anyway, when they got there the grand floridian couldn't find a trace of her reservation and that there were no rooms left, well, she pulled out the confirmation to show she had a reservation. anyway, they wound up upgrading them to a suite in the conceirge section at the grand floridian. they never asked for an upgrade. so see, if you have the confirmation, you should be ok. good luck again. let us know what happens.
:D

two words: PAPER TRAIL! :D Seriously, so long as you have that confirmation, you should be good. My advice from this point on- make copies of everything you have, and get the date, time, and person you spoke with at Disney, as well as what number you called- the number part may sound silly, but trust me its easier for the CM to locate who exactly you spoke to should there be any issues at check-in. Remember, saying you called the "disney number" leads you to about a thousand different possibilities of who you called and who you spoke to from a CM's perspective.

And this should be a given, but bring EVERYTHING with you when you come down to Disney, whether you have a problem or not. I've seen far too many guests without documentation or confirmations but saying they were promised something...unless a CM can see your documentation and what you were indeed guarenteed, its very difficult for them to give you the best guest service possible and get you what you rightly deserve and paid for!

Something similar happened to us last Thanksgiving. We had to pay our deposit by July 22, 2002.....We sent a check in the mail 2 weeks before.

Well they never got the check and when our bank statement came ...the check was not there.

I then called and they said the reservation was cancelled due to non-payment.....At the beginning of September 2002 was when we found out.....they said no rooms were available at POR for the time we wanted.

Here is what I did and I suggest you do.....
Call the front desk and speak to the people at the ASMo directly.

They have rooms set aside. BUT CRO will not tell you that.
The front desk manager at POR understood what happened and booked our stay at POR last Thanksgiving for the price and dates we originally reserved.

As one of the posters said...paper trail is VERY important.
But call the front desk yourself...you should be OK.

But...
let me tell you what just happened to my friend. she lives in Wash DC and had reservations to go to hawaii, it was her and her hubby and they were meeting her parents, 2 sisters and brother in Hawaii. They were supposed to leave last wednesday. Well on Tuesday she put her 3 kids on a plane and sent them to Minnesota to stay with her in-laws for a week and then wednesday they flew from DC to Reno, the plane in Reno was overbooked so they flew to san francisco and the plane there was overbooked by 200 people. The airlines (Delta) said they would not have another plane for them to get to Hawaii for 2 weeks. So they ended up flying back to DC and not going to Hawaii at all. The airlines would not reimbuse them but gave them 2 free tickets to fly where ever they wanted, with my friend having to pay the taxes on the tickets.....of course. She called me to tell me what happened and of course she was in tears. I cant believe that delta just couldnt pull another plane out of a hanger, fill it with gas and send 200 people to Hawaii. And the airlines are complaining they are hurting because no one wants to travel after 9/11. Here were 200 people that wanted to travel but were told they couldnt.

Well, sorry for being off subject but your story reminded me of my friends story. I wish you the best of luck with your situation. Hope it all works out for you.

Wow Khawk - that sounds kind of fishy... maybe it was a tour operator chartering a Delta flight?

Delta has agreements with all the other airlines and they can honour each other passengers etc... or connect through differnt cities.. but to turn away 200 people and say "nothing for 2 weeks" sounds more like they booked a package and the tour operator is up to no good...

What an awful experience for your friend :(

I have to agree.

I know, I felt really bad for her to get that far, all the way to california and then have to turn back. If she would have got to Hawaii she would have been to all 50 states. Hawaii is the only one she hasnt gotten to yet, but her dad told her that he will get her there someday. Maybe then I could afford to go with her, I would love to see Hawaii someday. She and her husband ended up taking a trip up the east coast to New jersey, maryland and just took a few days off to spend together.

After reading your post I wondered if yours were a Disney Club reservation? When I booked FTP for next month, my original confirmation had a bookmark-sized flyer stating special travel arrangements/dates for club members including a 21 day instead of 45 prior to arrival final payment date. After I sent my deposit in, my paperwork then had the 45 day date. I called DC reservations and was told by a rather snide CM that it didn't matter "what kind of discount" i had, that all payments were due 45 days out. When I asked her then why was I receving conflicting information in writing, she put me on hold. Lo and behold, several minutes later a much nicer sounding and apologetic same CM said that my "file hadn't been updated" but that the 21 day date was correct.

So, all in all, I second the papertrail-- follow-up by phone cries of above!

P.S. Today makes 25 days out!!! I can't wait!

Thank you all for responding! Well, here is what happened today...I have my reservation back to ASMo with my two rooms and they will try to do something very special for my niece and nephew for when they arrive! I had my confirmation letter and faxed it like you all said. What a weight off my shoulders! Thanks for all the advice and khawk, I really feel sorry for your friend! I hope the next trip works out for them! Oh, and mrsR123, to answer the question, no, my ressie was not for the DC.
Thanks again everybody for the help!
