Disney canceled my Mine Train FP for Sept 27

They swapped it to Splash Mountain due to an "unexpected change in the operating schedule". This is my first time going since the new FP and I am struggling with all the planning (and I usually love planning). I am finding their website difficult to navigate. The FOF and Electric parade were all booked when I tried to schedule FP 60days out at midnight. Now I have lost Mine Train - I wish they could supply a generic Mine Train replacement pass that I could use on one of my MK days. I am feeling frustrated.

I'm still wondering how things turned out for you Op after that 40+ minute phone call yesterday.

So dates to reserve FPs on party nights should be opening every day. If this was a glitch and they intend to put them back, then the new dates coming online should have the 6-7 timeframe available.

If this was not a glitch, but indeed about getting rid of FP times between 6:30 and 7, then people should be unable to book that time from here forward.

Anyone booking a party date 60 days out right now? I'd love to hear if you can get one of those very late FP times.

Our fastpass window opened today, it originally gave me 5:45-6:45 for PP, so yes it was still possible. I manually changed it to 5:30-6:30, to avoid problems

Interesting piece of the puzzle. That part has me thinking glitch for the first time. But if that's the case, they need to put back all the ones that got cancelled. Good call making it for 5:30 instead!

If you allow someone to book it, in my opinion, you shouldn't then just take it away unless the ride is closing for unexpected and required maintenance. At the very least, they should've rebooked the passes for the same ride, but even that can be problematic given that the computer doesn't know your exact schedules. Anyways, I assume we'll find out if this really is a glitch in the next day or two.

To me, this seems to be MM+'s biggest issue: malfunction. It seems to happen far too frequently for a system its size. I don't really mind FP+ and actually enjoy the convenience of MDE and MagicBands, but when they don't work, it's an absolutely miserable and stressful experience.

So I was told the system would fix itself yesterday when I called. Seems like it didn't restore my 6-7 FP but it gave me a bonus FP to use anytime. It just appeared in my MDE account within the last hour.

So it looks like that is how Disney is fixing it. The one they changed it to is still there so I'm going to try and change it as its during my ADR.

OP here. I was on the phone over an hour with this issue and had I not been on the DIS reading about what everyone else was experiencing I would have had even more trouble.

The first person I talked with, Kathleen from IT was adamant that the Mine Train would be closed all day and she could not/would not switch my fps. When I told her I had MNSSHP tickets for that night and was concerned about still attending the party if that ride would be down she was going to pass me to guest services to see if I could change my party night. When she came back on the phone this is the only option she gave me, try to switch the party night I had tickets for. Luckily I surfed the DIS while on hold for 20 minutes and knew this was probably bogus info. Next person who entered into equation was Ronda (from the "back team"). She looked into situation while I waited on hold for another 20 minutes. They came back on and said they didn't know what was going on. They would not/could not give me a new Mine Train FP. They said that they could not tell if FPs for earlier times on the 27th were still valid. Honestly they did not seem very concerned. I felt like I was an annoyance to them.

Thank you to the person/poster who explained that they got anytime fps for their canceled Haunted Mansion FP on this thread because that is what I asked for. Kathleen could not/would give me Mine Train FP for the 27 to replace the ones that had been taken away. She did transfer me to Guest Services. I spoke with Vicky at guest services (who was very nice by the way). She did give me passes for Mine Train Sept 27 that could be used any time that day.

I wasted over an hour of my time and was made to feel a bit like I was causing trouble.

Does that mean you have 4 now for one day? And is the bonus FP for the ride they cancelled out on you?

UGH.

It used to be that Disney went out of the way to make things good even when it wasn't their fault.

Who here thought we'd ever see so much resistance from Disney for something that WAS their fault?

Glad you got what you needed though.

Yes, I now have four FPs. My original two that remained untouched, the third which was Splash (changed from Mine Train), and a fourth use anytime on the 27th for Mine Train.

omg wth? Did you send an e-mail to them complaining about the poor customer service? Stuff like this makes me not want to support big corporations, even Disney. I already have a small list of corporations I no longer buy products or services from. I realize that as one individual it probably means diddly squat, but I like to think there are other individuals out there like me who are also voting with their dollar, so to speak. If anything, at least it gives me more satisfaction.

Honestly, it was not a good experience and if I had listened to what they were telling me I would have changed my MNSSHP date which would have created an even bigger mess. The first 40 minutes I spent on the phone I don't think anyone even acknowledged that it was an inconvenience in any way. In fact, Kathleen said, well you have the Mine Train FP on another day so... I think she wanted me to just leave things alone. My son is 38 inches and will be missing out on a lot of rides that big sis is going on and I did not want him to miss this one also.

I'll be curious to see how many folks get the 4th FP+ added. Hoping others update here. I doubt it'll happen on my account since I cancelled my third FP+ in an effort to look at the early 7DMT availabilities that others reported seeing. Then I found out there's no way to add back that third FP+ w/o deleting your other two... which is insane... The phone call is what got my third back as the select your own experience.

That's ridiculous. Kathleen's comment about how you had it on another day would have really ticked me off. That makes ZERO difference in them fixing the problem at hand. If you have tickets for more than one day and want to ride twice, that should not matter.

Our email said they cancelled our Seven Dwarfs Mine Train from 5:40 PM to 6:40 PM and it stated that they gave us Big Thunder Mountain from 2:35 PM to 3:35 PM on party night. Only when I check my MDE, it shows Big Thunder for 3:30-4:30 PM. Not sure which time is correct, but I think MDE is the more accurate. I checked and we do have a Select One Experience offer. We don't have park tix for that day, but we do have party tix for that night. We have a 4:40 ADR which is tangled up in this mess somewhere, but with the Select One Experience to be used anytime before 7 PM, it will work out for us afterall. Without the Select One Experience, I would have been disappointed not to get the Mine Train that day like we planned when DD arranged this at midnight 60 days out.

I checked my MDE - no 4th. It's probably because I deleted the third in my haste after the whole mix up. I've never ridden 7DMT -- haven't been since it opened, so it was a big deal to me and I had ants in my pants ;)

I guess this is Disney's way of fixing it for those who held out! I still think they wouldn't have done diddly squat if we hadn't all converged on them like a pack of wolves. (^___^) It's like all of us on DISBoard were calling at the same time, even getting the same folks. haha

What really annoys me is that Disney expects us to plan ahead at 60 days out-to loose flexibility but to gain assurance. But then they pull out the rug and give you neither. I understand the ride breaking down but anything else should be decided prior to FP times opening in the first place.
