The torches around the world showcase used to be lit about a half hour before illuminations started. So they were lit the whole time the pre-illuminations music was playing. Now they light them up just a few minutes before illuminations starts (and of course blow them out when illuminations starts). So it's harder to see which way the wind is blowing (the torches used to be a good indicator) when looking for a place to watch the show.
