I sent a letter to Disney to ask for a certain area at CBR The room supervisor called me yesterday to say, he got my letter, and there would be no problem. After I sent the letter we upgraded to preferred, so when I told him that he said "no problem" when I asked for connecting rooms in Martinique 26. I am doing a welcome to Disney package for my granddaughter. I sent everything down, and he said it had arrived. I asked him if they had the capability to blow up balloons. He said "sure do." I told him in the box that was sent down, there was a package of balloons. He said it would be no problem blowing them up. I am very excited that everything is going to work as planned. He all so did not think there would be a problem getting into our room when we arrive around noon. The Pixie Dust is flying. Will let everyone know how this all worked.:cool1:

That is great news...just another way to make your vacation more magicial!

What a cute idea! I'm glad everything is working out! Have a fabulous trip!

I am confused. You called CBR directly and they told you that there would be "no problem" getting into connecting rooms four hours before check-in time? While I hope everything works the way you would like, I would probably keep it in the back of my mind that things happen and don't let it ruin your vacation if there is a snag.

I'm going to be the devil's advocate on this one and tell you not to hold your breath. The chances of a Disney CM opening a package addressed to a guest is remote at best. Plus there is no way to guarantee your room will be ready at 12:00.
Of course I hope it all works out for you but I'd be prepared just in case.

I really don't think a CM would be allowed to open a package addressed to a guest. Something sounds fishy here.

I agree.

OP - it would be fantastic if all of this happened, but honestly...I wouldn't bank on it. Go with the expectations that you will be staying at one of the most beautiful resorts...and anything above that is gravy!

OP, sounds like a fun plan. I do hope it all comes together. But, I'm going to add myself to the skeptical list. I can't imagine how a room supervisor would even know that your package arrived. Something just doesn't sound right. For your sake, I hope I'm just being cynical and that all that pixie dust (and this is a considerable amount) comes your way.

Yes, I know things can happen. No, it will not ruin anything. I am one that rolls with the punches. When I called to upgrade from a reg. room to preferred, the lady said I am going to give you the direct number for CBR room assignments, since you are coming so soon. So I called there and the lady acted like she had no clue what I was talking about. I had already sent the letter, so I thought well, what ever happens, happens. Then the supervisor for room assignments called, gave me his name, said there would be no problem getting us in the section and rooms we want. He said he would be working when we came in on the 16th. So, if this works, that will be awesome. If it does not work we have a preferred room, and things will still be awesome, because I am at Disney. And being a crazy planner like most of us here, I do have a plan B! Only 6 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

Well, I hope this can cheer you up a little. For my DD's Sweet 16, we took her to Disney (AKL). Without our knowledge, my mother-in-law, who was not traveling with us, made some phone calls - she purchased gifts for our daughter and made the arrangements to have them waiting in the room when we got there - all decorated and everything! (no balloons allowed at AKL) She wasn't even on the reservation and they did this for her. I don't actually know how she did it, but she did, and it worked! So, I hope it works for you as well! Good luck!!!:cool1:

There is usually no problem having gift items delivered to a room and waiting for an incoming family but there IS a problem with a CM opening up a sealed package addressed to a Guest. I just don't see it happening with all the legal ramifications attached to someone's private property being opened and removed. There is also no guarantee that a room or rooms will be ready if other families were in those rooms prior to another family's arrival. You never know if they're going to leave at the stated time of 11:00 am or if your rooms will be first on the housekeeper's list to turn them around. OP- I hope everything works out for you and that this CM who promised so much is able to come through for you.

My daughter's name is Harper also! And we will be at CBR Friday the 18th! However, daughter is not coming with us this trip. This trip is all about our birthday boy who is turning 11. Infant Harper will be staying with her grandmother in Kentucky.

I hope you have a magical stay!! :teeth:

what a fun idea! i am excited to see if it works out, if so I might do that when we are there for my ds's birthday!

Oh boy.
Ok - I'll bite and be the bad guy. I have been on these boards for many years and I have wonder out loud - for the sake of anyone who reads this thread and thinks this exact thought.

1. Who in the World do you *mail* a letter for a room request to? It is my understanding that a computer assigns rooms. If for no other reason, it would be next to impossible for one human being to read/process and ensure any and all room requests. Even when you call the *Resort* - the best you get is the call center. And I just can't imagine them giving out the direct number for room assignments for a specific resort (if there is even one).
2. I cannot possibly imagine how anyone can promise you the exact location you requested, with connecting rooms, and that your room will be ready 4 hours before the room is ready for the everyone else and you are still 5 days away from arriving?
3. A CM is going to open a box addressed to a guest and decorate the room for them?

I am fully prepared for the flames coming my way - sorry OP - but there are a whole lot of promises here that just seem waaay off.
