Disney busses or drive when staying at AKV and OKW?

We will have a rental car this next trip and I'm looking for some advice on if/when to drive it to the parks instead of taking the busses. We have been many times, sometimes with a car and sometimes without. We usually park the car and leave it, unless we're going to another resort for dinner, then it's a no brainer. Our kids are older so no lugging around strollers, etc. We actually kind of like the busses. Not annoyed with the normal waiting or standing, etc. I'm wondering if I should expect to drive more this trip however because of our resort choices. At AKV we will be at Jambo, so last to be picked up. We are at every park for rope drop, so I'm thinking this might be an issue. OKW is fairly close to most of the parks, so driving won't be so bad. There are many bus stops and depending on our villa location, we could be on the bus almost as long as it would take to drive ;) I guess I'm talking myself into driving even though I don't really want to :sad2: If you have a car, what do you usually do?

When we stay at OKW we usually take the bus in the morning (rope drop) to all the parks except Animal Kingdom. We use the car for DTD, water parks, and returning to Studio or Epcot later in the day. It is much easier to clear Epcot after illuminations in a car. I can't remember the last time we parked in the MK lot.

We have a similar trip planned. Jambo and okw. I'm debating wether we'll get a rental at all. We've stayed at okw before and we just seem to walk past our rental to the bus stop.

One of the things I love about Disney trips is that as soon as I park at our airport, I'm done driving until we come home. We were at AKL last summer and had no problems with the busses. I don't know about OKW though. You could always try the busses and if you aren't too happy with them, start using the car more, it would be nice to have the options. I personally would always take bus to the Magic Kingdom though since that drops you off right towards the front instead of parking at the TTC.

Dacky041208, so you never minded that the busses went to Kidani first and Jambo last. I am staying here in July so I'm looking for peoples summer experiences. I'm thinking I probably won't mind it sooo much since most of our trips are at BCV which the buses go s/d, yc then bc alot of the times.

I didn't mind at all. I think it's similar to staying at a resort that has more than 1 bus stop. The year before we stayed at CSR which has 4 stops, I think AKL was quicker getting up to Kidani and then back to Jambo house. My wife and I didn't have to stand much on the busses, only when we'd leave at park closing time or right after one of the night shows. All in all the busses were great. I think the worst thing is that AKL is the furthest out.
