After the cruise if your taking the disney bus transportantion back to Orlando International airport, is there a system in place based on flight times or is it just 1st off the ship get to the buses go back first? Our plane is not a major carrier (ata) so cannot check luggage at the ship will take it our selves to airport.

How often do the buses run?, leave?

Thanks, MKY princess:

We did do the transfers on our first cruise and our second, but since then we have rented a car but from what I remember (and it may have changed over the past four years) was it was basically first come first serve, there are many busses lined up and you get on and wait for it to fill up,, we got on around 9am or so and were at the airport by 10:45 so it was not a terribly long wait as it is about an hour drive.
As for the luggage, it goes under the bus, you don't have to lug it around and the driver will unload it for you (give the nice man a tip as they work hard ;) )

It is "first come, first served," but the busses are sitting there waiting for passengers....it only takes a few minutes to fill up a bus and have it leave as the line is all disembarking at the same time.

What I'm trying to say is that you won't have to wait for a bus or wait any significant length of time for a bus to fill up and leave for MCO.

If you are in a time crunch and have late dinner seating, you might want to do Topsider's for breakfast and leave the ship as early as the doors open.

Yes, it's first come first serve for the bus, but as quickly as they fill up, they leave and another empty bus takes their place. We flew American, so we could check out bags at the airport. So it actually took us longer to leave the port because it took a few minutes to get the bags checked at the port.

Hi,

We just got home a few hours ago, and had the Disney Transfers to the airport. I was impressed with how smoothly everything ran.

Our flight was not until 1:30, so we did not really rush off the ship like we might have with an earlier flight. By the time we did our 20th check of the room to make sure we weren't leaving anything behind, it was probably about 8:40 when we left the ship.

After you pick up your luggage, you show your Key to the World Card and that indicates that you have purchased the transfers. It only took about 5 minutes to check our luggage at the ship with US Air, and then we got on the bus. (In answer to your question, busses continually leave as they get full--we were the first ones on our particular bus, and it took maybe 15 minutes for it to fill and leave the port.) It was about a 45 minute ride to the airport. It was probably around 10:30 or 10:45 when we got there. If you book a flight for 12:00 noon or after, you should have plenty of time.
