Hi everyone :)
Just signed up here, heard a lot of great things about the wedding info on this site. I'm newly engaged (5/18/07) but we already knew we were getting married at WDW. We're addicts. :cool1:
99% sure on the following:
Getting married at Sea Breeze Point (Boardwalk) in December '08. Honeymoon: 3days at parks, 4-5 night Disney cruise

My question is for those that have been married outside in November, December, or January.
  • How was the weather? (cold/windy/etc)
  • Were the Christmas decorations prevelant in your photos? (hoping not)
  • Were the guests comfortable?

Thanks a bunch! :)

Congrats!!! I'm new here too... I got engaged over this past Christmas (on my birthday at WDW) and we knew right away we wanted a Disney wedding as well. :)

While I haven't gotten married outside...;) I have been to WDW the past two Christmas's and while it gets chilly at night (a sweatshirt is usually fine) during the day it was quite nice! I hope that helps a little bit regarding your first question.

Also, I wanted to tell you that I have the same hopes for my honeymood...we want to go to the parks for a couple of days (mostly to wear our mickey mouse wedding ears lol) and then go on a 5 night Disney cruise for some relaxation!

I look forward to hearing more about your planning! Congratulations again!

hi there :)

how funny about the ears!!! I'm already having to coerce him into wearing them lol! Its going to take me over a year to get him to agree to it lol...but I told him he HAS to wear them on the cruise...no one will know us there! Everyone knows us at WDW...(i have a lot of old cast member friends there). Best of luck! I look forward to hearing about your wedding as well :)

sorry, technical difficulties! I accidentally double posted and now I can't figure out how to delete this...:rolleyes1

i got married in december (4th) & the weather can be iffy.....it was hot a few days(80s) & then cold (50s)..so its real unpredictable.

as for the decorations....they werent noticable at all where our ceremony was...mostly the decorate the parks & the resort lobbies....its beautiful & you can get some great pics

I think you'll really enjoy that time....just plan ahead & you'll be fine

congrats & welcome!!

Congratulations! Welcome to the board! While I can offer you no Disney experience in the "winter" months, I am looking forward to hearing all about your planning.

Oh, and talk to one of the Queens of this board, Maggimus...who was married Nov 14th, 2006. She can give you lots of good info for your time of year!

congrats and welcome. You got engaged on my birthday:cool1: . I am also getting engaged late in the year:santa: Nov not till 2009 though. Was in Disney November past and we had two really hot days and then 19 really cold days while we were there and I am from the UK and used to the cold.

ooh I just noticed on an other post you are hoping to do your wedding on the 18th of the month us too. 6 months after my birthday (makes it a bit easier for DF to remember, lol)

laura~~ thats so neat! :) Yeah, I live in FL so I'm pretty used to the weather fluctuations...I was just wondering if anyone got cold standing out in their dress that long you know? Oh well...Ill probably be SO nervouse I won't even realize it! And besides, cool weather keeps my hot flashes away (yes...hot flashes at 21...can you believe it??)

And thanks jodee! I will look for her posts :)

I just wanted to say congratulations and welcome to the board!

I love your ring :thumbsup2

Hi and welcome. I was married December 19th and the weather was wonderful. It was about 65 degrees.
We were married at the WP and did not have a lot of Christmas decorations in our photos.
I had my 80 plus year old grandparents there and they loved it. After dinner (around 9p.m.) it was a little chilly out side but not too bad.

thanks princess :) Good to hear the weather was nice...your picture is beautiful! We are hoping for a 12pm wedding and 2pm reception..(with an after party at jelly rolls..lol) so hopefull it will stay warm for most of the guests...but not too warm :)
