In 11 days our family of four will be making our first trip down to Disneyland, cannot wait! A few questions of those fellow disney travellers with children (ours are 3 and 5) ,how did you fine you children's energy levels?
Did you find that they needed a afternoon nap or did they have unbelievable energy levels. Also our daughter turns 4 while we're at disneyland ,any suggestions for her birthday (cake etc.) and were would you eat your meals , in the park or at restaurants in the area.Any help would be appreciated!!

We just came back from a two day park trip. We were there from 10-8 both days, open to close, and parkhopped. We have a 3, 5 and 8 yo. The 3 and 5 yo's were in strollers, the 8 yo walked the whole time, all the way from HoJo. The first day the 3 yo fell asleep about 5:00, sitting up in the stroller. We let him sleep while we ate dinner in the park. The next day the 3 and 5 yo made it til closing, and conked out on the walk back to the hotel. Since park hours were limited we didn't want to leave for a break. Nobody got cranky or whiney, they were having too much fun. And the exhaustion made them sleep good at night. Have a great trip!

Oh, since the park was only open 10-8, we ate breakfast in the hotel, brought snacks in, and ate lunch and dinner in the park. No way was I leaving the park to eat, my ride time was too precious.

In November we took our 3 boys -- 3, 6, and 9 at the time. Three of the four days we were there, our 3 year old just took a nap in the stroller. He hasn't napped regularly for over 2 years. He didn't get whiny at all. He just fell asleep when we went from one point to the next, and that gave him a second wind. Oddly enough, the 1 day that he didn't nap he had an incredible amount of energy. We were heading back to HOJO and our 9 year old was pretty much sleep walking. :) My husband was guiding him along by the arm. Our 6 year old was sleeping in the stroller. Our 3 year old was acting like he had just woken up from a 5 hour nap...wanting to just run around, laugh and be silly. The hours were 10 - 8 while we were there. I think if we had gone during days with longer park hours there would have been some crankiness going on, and we'd definitely do the mid-day break thing. But with 10 - 8, we just didn't need the scheduled break. Have fun!
