Disney Boardwalk Villas/Disney Beach Club Villas

For purchase? To stay at? Some will depend on what is important to you. You can search on it as questions often come up on which is "better".

Do you want Grand Villas? Do you want to book different categories to either save points or get a "cool' view? Do you want smaller or larger?

I would like it to be close to Epcot. I would like a balcony with a view of the Fireworks. In a 1 or 2 bedroom unit.

View of fireworks = BWV Boardwalk view but even then it needs to be a high floor and is better towards the end that is above Jelly Rolls. Boardwalk only has 2 bedroom lockoffs. If 2 beds in the second bedroom is important then BCV does have dedicated 2 bedrooms. And BCV is a bit closer to Epcot but BWV is only a little bit further and if you come out on the boardwalk and the Epcot boat is there you can jump on it and Epcot is the next stop.

Personal preference but BWV has Standard View rooms for cheap points per night.

Own at BWV and prefer it -- boardwalk view (BCV essentially has no views); low cost standard view; boardwalk activities, stores, and main pool are all right there, rather than having a long walk to get to main pool (Stormalong Bay) and restaurants at BCV; and walking distance to Studios is less.

However, BWV currently has a real problem if you want a standard view studio or 2BR (all 2BRs are lock-offs and thus if studios fill the 2BRs are also gone). During the high to extremely high DVC demand season from late Sep to marathon weekend in Jan, those very often disappear right at, or even before, 8 a.m. eastern at 11 months out from arrival date, and do the same about 30% of the time during the rest of the year. Moreover, even boardwalk view studios/2BRs have that issue sometimes during the high demand season. And even the standard view 1BRs have disappeared right 8 a.m. at 11 months out sometimes during the first week of December (DVC's highest demand week of the year). BCV has not developed a 11-month reservation issue where rooms can disappear within nanoseconds after 8 a.m. eastern.

Fireworks views at BCV are hard to get and there aren't many of them. We had a lovely view of trees and only trees outside our one bedroom in May. The pool view is the more likely view that isn't too bad.

If you have kids that like pools then Beach club would probably be better. BWV has the Boardwalk views
and the standard rooms (which are more economical).

For me I like BWV!

But Stormalong Bay at the BC/YC/BCV isn't that great for littler kids or non-swimmers. Especially if you have to keep your eyes on them.

Agree 100%. However, I would also point out that the Pool/Garden studios do NOT disappear within seconds of the opening of the 11 month window. Point costs for those are the same as the BCV & BRV studios during Adventure and Choice seasons.

I believe BCV is the only resort where dedicated 2BR do not always have 2 Q's in the second BR. 24 out of the 78 dedicated 2BR have 2 Q's, the others have 1Q and a pullout in the second BR. You need to add into the room requests you want 2Q's, and that is still no guarantee.

In the recent refurb they added the second bed to all the dedicated 2BR's so they do not have that split in the category any longer. :thumbsup2

Fireworks view at BWV is basically not a bookable category. Boardwalk View has fireworks views, but can be hit or miss. Also, since we don't know what will succeed Illuminations, it may very well be that there will be less to see.

The best bookable fireworks views are all over at the Magic Kingdom resorts - Poly Lake View, and BLT TPV.

Did I read that Beach Club replaced the jetted tubs with "fine bubble streams" in a recent refresh cycle ... but Boardwalk kept the jetted tub?

Fireworks aren't happening constantly at either resort. If that is what you are buying for, don't buy - you'll be disappointed more often than you are happy.

I did a split stay between those two once. Preferred the relative quiet and calm of BCV. However, if you want view, the BWV Boardwalk View can't be beat, in my opinion.
