We are heading to the World in just 2 weeks for my son's 5th Birthday and while we are HUGE Disney fans anyway this is our 1st Birthday trip. So I was wondering what kind of special stuff did other families do for birthdays while at Disney. I have already ordered a cake to be delivered during his special Birthday Breakfast at O'hanas. I also went to the local party store and stocked up on all Mickey Mouse clubhouse decorations that I'll put up in the room before Nicholas see's it. What else????:bday:

I've posted this before, but thought you might be interested...

We celebrated our DS 5th birthday in WDW in November. Here's the list of what we did

Breakfast at Chef Mickey's - pictures as you go in & sing Happy Birthday

Crystal Palace - Bday certificate signed by characters & parade through restaurant section

Fireworks cruise from Grand Floridian to see Wishes. Expensive, but there is somewhere on the disboards to share rides. This was also our treat because it was our anniversary.

Rode in front of monorail. Amazing heading into Epcot.

Told every restaurant it was his bday....bday cupcakes & sing Happy Bday

Made sure all characters at meet & greets knew it was his bday - lots of bday wishes in his autograph book

Pirate cruise from Grand Floridian

Passport from Epcot has Happy Birthday written in many languages from the Kidcot stops.

Haircut at barber shop on Main Street in MK - blue mohawk

Made sure his birthday was mentioned everywhere on our reservations

Mentioned his birthday at check-in. Mickey left an autographed picture in our room with bday wishes.

Each morning when he woke up, Mickey had done/left something - left Mickey ears w/ his name & autograph book, Mickey plate/bowl/cup for breakfast (we ate bfast in our room), Mickey bday shirt, Mickey PJs, decorated room with theme for next day (pirate stuff for pirate cruise day, animal stuff for AK day, etc...), Bday cards, etc....

He wore his bday button the whole week. We would have celebrated for a week at home, so I figured why not! It was great. He can be very shy. At the beginning of the week, when everyone was wishing him happy birthday, I had to poke him to say thank you. By the end of the week, he was saying thank you without me & actually wishing other people happy birthday if he saw their button.

I am trying to figure out how to go back for his 6th :thumbsup2

WOW!!! Thanks so much!! I love the idea about leaving Mickey presents in the am. I am already on the hunt for Mickey Pj's. Thanks, sounds like you have a great time.

We are also going to celebrate a birthday when we go! My son will be 6. I was wondering about the birthday buttons: I know that there is a different one for each park, can you get one from a park when it's not your birthday yet, we will be at Hollywood Studios the day before? Thanks

OP-I recently saw Mickey pjs at Kohls not sure what size they go up to because I was looking for my son who is 2T but I think they had them up to 5I usually find lots of Mickey stuff at Walmart too.

The buttons are the same at each park. But they are really cute. U can even get them at check-in at a Disney hotel.

Thanks, I just found a really cute Mickey Mouse tshirt at Target, but the PJ's were a 5T and too tight for his belly. So I'll check Kohls. Thanks so much.

We have celebrated my son's birthday at WDW twice. Make sure that you mention the special day to everyone. We have had a special gift from Goofy - signed picture, card, and balloon - delivered to our room. He received a birthday button to wear, and a birthday call from a character. Also at Chef Mickey's , he was part of the celebration and got to decorate his birthday cupcake with Mickey Mouse. All free! So, ask and see what they can do for you.

We are going in 3 weeks and will be celebrating my son's 5th b-day while there as well. We are going to Chef Mickey's for his b-day breakfast and then heading to MK to spend the day. At night we have the Epcot Illuminations dinner package booked so hopefully he'll enjoy the fireworks. They also have a Happy Birthday Mickey ears hat that we plan to get for him. Disney florist also does an in room celebration which is kind of on the pricey side but grandma and grandpa said they'd pay for it for him> :cool1: It really is pretty neat and has a special gift from each of the main characters: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald...you can check it out at Disneyflorist.com.
