I've posted this before, but thought you might be interested...
We celebrated our DS 5th birthday in WDW in November. Here's the list of what we did
Breakfast at Chef Mickey's - pictures as you go in & sing Happy Birthday
Crystal Palace - Bday certificate signed by characters & parade through restaurant section
Fireworks cruise from Grand Floridian to see Wishes. Expensive, but there is somewhere on the disboards to share rides. This was also our treat because it was our anniversary.
Rode in front of monorail. Amazing heading into Epcot.
Told every restaurant it was his bday....bday cupcakes & sing Happy Bday
Made sure all characters at meet & greets knew it was his bday - lots of bday wishes in his autograph book
Pirate cruise from Grand Floridian
Passport from Epcot has Happy Birthday written in many languages from the Kidcot stops.
Haircut at barber shop on Main Street in MK - blue mohawk
Made sure his birthday was mentioned everywhere on our reservations
Mentioned his birthday at check-in. Mickey left an autographed picture in our room with bday wishes.
Each morning when he woke up, Mickey had done/left something - left Mickey ears w/ his name & autograph book, Mickey plate/bowl/cup for breakfast (we ate bfast in our room), Mickey bday shirt, Mickey PJs, decorated room with theme for next day (pirate stuff for pirate cruise day, animal stuff for AK day, etc...), Bday cards, etc....
He wore his bday button the whole week. We would have celebrated for a week at home, so I figured why not! It was great. He can be very shy. At the beginning of the week, when everyone was wishing him happy birthday, I had to poke him to say thank you. By the end of the week, he was saying thank you without me & actually wishing other people happy birthday if he saw their button.
I am trying to figure out how to go back for his 6th
