Has anyone gotten the Disney Birthday buckets? We are thinking of getting one for my DD when we eat at Cafe Orleans. I was wondering if it is worth the $20.

Thanks!

when I called to make reservations the other day I asked about these, and the lady told me the bucket included a 4inch cake, a toy, a hat (I think) and I know I have forgotten something........ :confused3 and they are themed for Mickey or Princesses I think

I was going to go for it, but they had already asked if they could bring DS a cupcake for his birthday so felt the cake wasn't needed, and I want to let him choose a toy.

I did however go for the $5 birthday bag, which has a puzzle, macara, pen...and other little things in it - just for a little treat. (this may only be available at Goofys Kitchen as I think about it  )

Best plan is probably ask when you call for your PS and see what you think

I was told there's a pin in the birthday bucket too.
When I ordered one for our birthday celebration I was told that only the Mickey version is available at the moment.

They are just OK! Personally I dont think they are worth the $20. I would actually go to the dollar store, get a Disney gift bag and fill it with Disney goodies and treats. Usually its cheaper and you get original stuff. Not what everyone else gets and also once you get to the park you can go get a birthday button to throw into the bag as well.

A friend gave my DS one while we were in the park on his 4th birthday. I'd heard the mini-cake wasn't that good, but my DS enjoyed his, and he enjoyed all the trinkets inside the bucket.

I honestly don't know what the cost of all the items would be if you priced them out individually, maybe it isn't worth it in that aspect. But I do know that he was so surprised and thrilled to get that bucket in the restaurant! He actually took it around to other tables to show other patrons the contents inside. I was so embarrassed and tried to stop him, but people kept telling me it was OK and totally adorable, so I let him show 2 or 3 tables, then made him stop. :rotfl:

And you know what? Six months later he still has that bucket, still carries it around the house, filling it with all kinds of little treasures and "shows" them to us or to his stuffed animals. :lmao:

It's a very happy memory from our last trip. :goodvibes

ETA: The toy in his Mickey Sorcerer bucket was a little beanie Mickey Sorcerer, really cute!

Ahhh...that is so cute!

So yeah, a pin does come w/ the bucket and the pin is themed to whoever is on the bucket. I personally liked the cake and even though it looks small, I still can't finish it by myself. Mine had strawberries in it! My favorite. I've gotten the Pooh bucket, which kinda looks like a honey pot, in the past and I remember that it came w/ a little stuffed Pooh keychain, a birthday pin w/ Pooh and friends on it, some other small stuff that I can't remember. It just depends if you want to spend $20 bucks on it that's all. I personally think the price is reasonable considering how much a bucket, a pin, a toy, a cake, etc. would total up to w/ a Disney pricetag on it. Plus, if I got something I need to carry around for the rest of the day, I'd put it in my cute bucket and carry it around.

We ordered one for my DS 6th bday and he loved it- I thought it was pricey when I booked it but when you pay for 6 people character breakfasts what's another $20 bucks!
Seriously, he loved the attention he got when they brought it out and he carried that bucket around with his 'Mickey-ndia Jones' in it the last eight days of the trip when we were at the beach.
I usually am not for this type of thing- (he didn't even eat the cake he was so full) but he loved it and it was well worth the $$$.

Huh! Thats odd as when I called disney dining on monday they told me 2 themes. Oh well, I decided against it anyway. And Mickey is good for both boys and girls, so guess it makes a little bit of sense! (in these times of financial crisis and all....... ;) )

I AGREE ! I bought a birthday bucket for my cousin disneyL0VE and while it was cool to get a special birthday treat, she was more excited about the birthday hat I bought her in the park! Though she did just turn 20 and a birthday bucket is a bit childish  , I think that buying specific goodies and presenting it at the dinner would be better because you can get more stuff for $20 just by making a special package!

I think though, it also depends on where you dine because I talked to a CM in January and she said that depending on the availability of the specific buckets, you can choose different ones!

I know that they are out of the princess one a lot, but it was just a temporary thing until they got more. Are you sure this wasn't the case as opposed to them not carrying it at all anymore? It is very popular, so this surprises me. :)
