Disney Bells and Pixie Dust! Our Practically Perfect Vacation!*Thanks for reading!

I am so jealous - your pics of Beauty & the Beast make even more disappointed that I missed it. :(

I love Hunter's scared pictures.

Don't be too jealous. It's about the only thing we did while we were there!

Awesome update!! I love your pictures~!

Thanks! Glad you're still here since I left you all hanging for so long!

Of course, when you call me a "whack-o" you are saying that with love, right? :confused3

:lmao: :rotfl:  It takes a whack-o to know one! You know I love ya Nicole!

Great update! I love the photopass pictures. I had some great ones at MGM as well. The CM's were very excited. I have the one with Stich too. They would not tell me before hand how it would come out.
Cannot wait to hear more...:cool1:

Our photographer in front of TOT was really good. Then, we also got some yucky ones too. The one with Belle at MK cut heads off and posted upside down pictures! Now that I have my computer back checking out your trip report is at the top of my to do list!

:dance3: Monica's Back!!!! :dance3:

I'm so glad your computer is back and all is right with the world again! I've checked every day to see if you've updated or not. I have to see what you got to do that I missed while we were there at the same time.

The shirts you made are fabulous! I could never do something like that. Do you think that's why the Photopass guy took so many pictures of you?

I have to agree with Hunter about ToT. I don't normally pack Depends with us when we go so I now refuse to ride.:lmao:

I love the picture of Hunter holding Meagan's hand. My kids would never dream of this now ( or probably at that age either!)

Keep writing---you've got some catching up to do! We left after you and I'm almost done with our TR. Of course yours is much more interesting.

Lynn

I left off on my last installment watching my husband and son walk away, wondering if I’d ever see them again. Ok, well I was at least wondering if they’d make it for our scheduled meal! Mom and I decided to locate 50’s café, then stake out the closest parade spot. We argued a little over where the actual parade route was, then I parked Megan and took a seat on the pavement. Unfortunately, wearing wet sandals at the party the night before was turning out to haunt me in the form of 2 HUGE blisters on my feet. It’s only day 1. This was not a good sign! My mom looked around a little outdoor shop, and I talked to the couple next to me. Then I looked over and saw this.
mgmandak035.jpg

Well, it looked like neither one of my kids were going to see the parade! Oh well. I guess I’d rather have her well rested. When the parade started I had the still camera and mom got her first shot at using out new video camera. I’d seen the MGM parade before in person and then many, many times on video. However, I really enjoyed it. Maybe it was because we hadn’t seen many characters yet this trip. It made me sad that the kids were missing it. When Mulan passed by she pointed at Megan, smiled, and made a sleeping motion. When Stitch passed by he pointed at her and pretended that he was going to poke her with his candy cane! As the parade ended, the video camera battery died. This turned out to be a theme for the trip. We had to get a new video camera at the last minute and Dave didn’t get a chance to get a better battery. Cute parade, but it’ll be nice to see something new when we go back SOMEDAY!

I really wish I could meet Miss Piggy I want to squeeze her squishy little pig nose! I wonder what it feels like?

After the parade we took a leisurely walk past the lake towards 50’s. It was a little early, but we figured we could let Megan sleep a little longer. We sat on a bench to people watch. *WARNING* If by chance the following observation describes you, I’m really sorry, but WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?! So these two ladies walk past us wearing those flannel pajama bottoms! Ok, I’ve seen this at the grocery store, and maybe at Walmart, but DISNEY?! Not to mention the fact that it was 80 degrees! It was odd. Soon after, guess who comes by? It’s Dave and Hunter! It’s a miracle! They rode Star Tours twice since Hunter loved it, and this was new favorite ride. They also met Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable. They were going to meet us for the parade after all, but got stuck in parade traffic or something. I’m not sure.

I check us in, then we decide to wake Megan up. She wasn’t too happy with us! We went inside and it was packed! I always look around at people to see if they look annoyed, like they’ve been there awhile. They did. I hoped that we didn’t have to wait too long because if you’re keeping track it was 3:45 and we hadn’t eaten anything since breakfast other than the ice cream that we shared during TOT. We were starving!

1-24-200893338PM.jpg

The waitress station was cute, like a 50’s kitchen. I kept watching an older cast member seating people. She walked slower than anyone I’ve ever seen! I really hoped she wasn’t our waitress! We were called pretty quickly and seated it a little side room with only a couple of tables. I was glad to be away from people. A chance to relax. Well, as much as I can relax in a restaurant with 2 kids. Our waiter came over and HE WAS A BIG DUD! I was disappointed, but the food made up for it!

Monica: Fried Herb Cheese= VERY YUMMY! Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich w/ smoked ham and fries=YUMMY!(But couldn’t finish it), Smores=Good, but not as yummy as I had hoped. Maybe it’s because I was stuffed!

Dave: Shrimp cocktail=Average, Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans=Very Good, Ice cream sundae=Very Good

Mom: Chocolate shake=Good, Chicken Noodle Soup=Very Good, Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans=Very Good, Brownie Sundae=Very Good, but she wondered what she was thinking ordering a shake!

Hunter: Chicken noodle soup= picked out the carrots and probably the chicken, but ate all of it, Mac and cheese=Well, its mac and cheese! He ate most of it, Sundae=Yummy

We all just shared with Megan. I watched sadly as the table next to us had to sing “Im a Little Tea Pot”. Hunter really would have enjoyed having a funny waiter. He did bring Megan a cupcake. She loved it!
1-24-200893230PM.jpg

The kids were kind of acting up so having our picture taken was not high on my list!
mgmandak078.jpg

OK. Fake smile. Megan! Get your finger out of your nose!

mgmandak085.jpg

Would we eat here again? Absolutely! The food was very good. Would we come back if the food was gross, but the waiter was great? Of course not. So the food is the most important aspect of the restaurant. A good waiter is just a plus. This is the only time that we left a restaurant feeling miserably stuffed. A ton of food.

As we left, I realized that my mom wasn’t following us. Where’d she go? She went the wrong way so I went to find her. I see her stopped at a table talking to someone. As I come around the corner my mom says, “There she is.” They were asking about our shirts. I told them how I made them and she asked if she could take a picture. Um, Ok. She took a picture then sort of reluctantly asked if I was on the DIS boards! I said yes and she pointed at her friend and she said, “So is she!” We exchanged screen names and it was DisneyAddicted! We had been reading the same pre-trip report (RoxanneNSteve) so we recognized each other although we had never spoke. We got a picture together and said our goodbyes. How cool that we found each other and neither one of us had our lime green Mickey heads! It’s like we have DIS radar!

Afterwards I took Hunter to the restroom and I have to say this was the NASTIEST Disney bathroom I had ever seen! I didn’t even let him wash his hands. I just scrubbed them with a wet wipe and hand sanitizer. There was water everywhere and paper towels all over the floor. Very gross.

By now it was around 5:30. It was time to head to my FAVORITE Disney attraction.

Next up: A great night and a wild ride!

Love the update and all the pictures Monica!

The parade looks great - never saw the one at MGM/Studios/whatever. I guess it is changing soon anyway.

Too bad you had a DUD waiter at 50's Prime Time. At least the food was good. Last time we went (2 yrs ago) Samantha wasn't too sure what to make of that place - our waitress played along pretty well. I tried to explain to Sam that it was all in fun but she wasn't so sure. I'm sure she would do better now.

Love the pic of Hunter through the window and Megan eating her cupcake. Too cute! You look not so happy in the first family pic - glad you gave up a fake smile in the second shot! :lmao:

How cool that you had an unscheduled DIS meet and no LGMH's! I'm always on the lookout for DISers and have yet to come accross one unplanned.

Can't wait for more! :cool1:

Great update. How funny too meet someone from the Dis without lime green. I ran into a few people from here too. I couldn't help but laugh at the first pic of you all at the table. You look like you were going to kill someone, I have several of those type of pics over the years.:lmao:
I'm so ready for a new parade at the studios! I haven't watched that one in a few years because I was "bored" but your pics are GREAT!
Looking forward to hearing what your fav attraction was....

Monica, great update! That's so funny about Megan falling asleep right before the parade! They always seem to do that, huh?

That's sad about the dud waiter!

It's so funny though in the pictures -I feel like I'm looking at picture from your own (or someone's much older) kitchen! Just Sunday dinner or something! :rotfl: I've never been to the 50's but I'd like to go next time!

Ewww on the bathroom! So un-Disney like! Maybe that really slow lady was also the bathroom lady, and she just can't quite keep up! :confused3

That's so great about your DIS meeting! I was always on the lookout and Shawn was like "what would you do? A secret handshake or something?"

Yeah, buddy! :cool1:

Can't wait for more!

Sara

Hey Lynn! I hadn't thought about the Photopass guy and our shirts. Maybe. I think that it was an off time and he was bored!

Depends!:rotfl: You crack me up.

Yeah, my kids love eachother 80% of the time!

I know. I talk way too much and probably give you more detail than you'd ever care to hear, but I don't see a Disney trip in our near or far future so I have to relive this one as slowly as possible! Thanks for the copliment, but its not true! I love your stories of drinking around the world!:lmao:

You know Michelle, for someone who goes to Disney alot you sure haven't seen much!:rotfl: Are you not parade people? My mom couldn't believe that you hadn't seen Illuminations.

Yeah, the kids were just wound up and I started dreading the fact we had sit down meals everyday with them! Luckily since we were in the corner we could let Megan get down. My mom has a way of taking pics when I'm just not in the mood! If you look closely you can see that Megan is crying and Dave's giving me or Megan a dirty look. Pretty funny picture actually!

Wow! The boards seem pretty fast this morning. Maybe getting rid of the really long threads is what they needed! We'll see. Very happy to be getting email notifications again! Gotta DIS all day cause I'm not going outside. It was 1 degree this morning!

You should go. The food was so good, and neat atmosphere (except the bathroom!). I was actually shocked at how bad the bathroom was!

A secret handshake!:rotfl: I talk to everyone when we're at Disney so Dave kept asking, "Who was that?" I'd say, "I don't know!" I guess he thought I knew eveyone at Disney because of the DIS!:rotfl: He thought it was funny how friendly I was. Not that I'm not a friendly person all of the time! I just don't talk to strangers everywhere we go!

there is so many pics of me looking just like that! Believe it or not, I hate having my pic taken, can someone explain that to missa?
The boards are super speedy today! IT IS SO COLD!! :cold:

:cool1: Another great update! We completely forgot about the parade at MGM! We were so busy with other stuff it just never occurred to us to go watch it!

Loved the pic of Megan and her cupcake... too cute!

I didn't think my kids would do well at 50's... I thought if a waiter told one of the boys to eat their green beans they would probably cry! :rotfl:

Hmmmmm... I wonder what your favorite attraction is! popcorn::

The boards and the people (well the people on here who don't beat other people up) are so nice, you just can't help yourself when you get there. Plus Disney CMs are usually so nice, it's just easier to be not as shy! I'm not one to start up conversations with people at the grocery store or mall but at Disney, it's like we all have a common goal - so it's just fun! :goodvibes

I didn't think my kids would do well at 50's... I thought if a waiter told one of the boys to eat their green beans they would probably cry! :rotfl:
:

Nicole, that is so funny! I thought the same thing! My 4 year old would probably have some kind of horrified look on her face and then bury it into my sleeve in tears if a stranger told her to eat her green beans!
:lmao:

Hmmm.. still want to do it! :confused3 Does that make me a horrible mother?

To heck with the four year old, I am terrified of that place!:scared:
Been there, done that, not going back

Monica, another good update (and I'm still drooling over those t-shirts). We love 50's too although we've never had a great CM make it fun. The food is good though. We can't go there for lunch because we are too stuffed afterwards and need a nap. Now we go for dinner instead.

Megan's cupcake was so cute. I had smores that were excellent. Probably my favorite dessert of the entire trip.

Now, back to those shirts. When your TR is over, I'm going to have to get detailed instructions from you. Very detailed. I'm craftdicapped.

Great update, too bad that you did not get a fun waiter but the food was good and that is what matters!

How fun that you ran into Ty (DisneyAddicted) randomly. Isn't it funny how stuff like that happens?

You know Michelle, for someone who goes to Disney alot you sure haven't seen much!:rotfl: Are you not parade people? My mom couldn't believe that you hadn't seen Illuminations.

Actually, the parades are usually my favorite thing! I don't know why we don't make it to them very often. :confused3 When Erik is with us he doesn't like the crowds/waiting but he's not with us that often so I don't know what our problem is! I wanted to see IllumiNations this next trip but the friends we are going with don't like the nighttime shows. Sam and I may have to just go ourselves. :thumbsup2

It was 1 degree this morning!

It was a bitter 68 degrees here this morning! :rolleyes1

I guess it's probably the prospect of knowing you are going to be going back soon, so you think you will catch it later. In 2004 I had 5 trips planned and I knew about them all (meaning they weren't spur of the moment) I did less in those five trips together then I do in one normal trip.

Well, my mom buried her green beans just in case our waiter suddenly got a personality and tried to make her eat them, or sing! He didn't even smile! He was more than a dud. He was a grumpy dud!

I'll find the pictures of us making the shirts and PM you with details and tips.

The smores were good, just hard to enjoy on a full tummy!

Crafticapped!:rotfl: :lmao:

How fun that you ran into Ty (DisneyAddicted) randomly. Isn't it funny how stuff like that happens?

It was funny because I thought for sure Ty was there the week before us because I made a point of looking at people's tickers to see who was going to be there when we were.

Are your friends a little whacky? You need to go sometime. You did finally see Fantasmic right?

As for the 68 degrees....

Yes! The guy part of this couple is a huge Disney fan - we went to high school together and I always remember him being a Disney nut - before it was cool to be a Disney nut! He doesn't like any of the fireworks, laser shows, et al for some reason - maybe it is the crowds? :confused3 I wanted to book Fantasmic for this trip with them but no dice. His wife and kids would love it I think - maybe we'll have to split up..

And yes - I finally saw Fantasmic in October and LOVED it! Don't know what took me so long. I think Kimmy is right - I always know I am coming back so I figure I can always catch it later.

It is 72 degrees now! ;)
