Disney Barber?

One important thing to remember at the MK Barber Shop. When they removed the old antique cash register and put in a terminal to allow use of credit cards and hotel charges and the like they hooked into The Emporium's network. The register, unlike ones in table service restaurants, cannot handle tips as part of the transaction.

So if you are planning on using the Harmony Barber Shop please be aware that if you are using any sort of card you cannot add a tip on the card and should have cash available for tipping.

I have been getting my haircut there every time I go for the past 15 years. Mike does a great job. I get a better haircut there then I do at home. It's nice what they do for the kids but it's also great for us " big kids " too

A very enthusiastic :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 from me, too! We took our son there & it was the first thing we did when we got to the MK on our trip this past March. My son never sat alone for a haircut and he did AWESOME at WDW. Heck, even now that we're back, he still won't sit for a haircut! :lmao: I don't know the name of the guy we had, but I hope he's there in December when we go. He did so good with my little guy! My son will definitely get another cut there! :wizard:

Sept 2006 our last trip our son 4 at the time had his first cut. Great time by all. we were ther with a party of 9 and everyone watched.we took lots of pics and even video which still makes mom weepy when she watches. He is the baby of our family. we may go back again this sept for another cut!

My nephew had his first haricut at the MKBS last summer (he was 14 months old at the time). We went first thing in the morning, shortly after rope drop. There were 2 or 3 people in front of us but the wait wasn't long (this was just prior to free dining, the crowds at the parks weren't bad at all). The ladies were fantastic ... so friendly and patient. The haircut turned out well too. My nephew was so enthralled by his multipe Mickey stickers that he would have tried to stand on his head if the nice lady had asked him too. The certificate, mickey ears, hair wrapped up with pixie dust are really nice touches too.

Highly recommend the Barber Shop at MK. I take my DS(10) to get his hair cut because honestly since moving to FL, they have done the best job and it isn't more expensive than other places.

I did get to see a boy get his first cut and it was so magical. Both Grandma's were there to witness it. I remember they were trying to figure out where to put that first lock of hair so they wouldn't lose it. The CM had wrapped it in tissue paper for them. Great memories for all.

I see a lot of grown men and some girls getting their hair cut also.

Don't forget, they do adults too! DH complained for the first 3 days of our trip about not getting a haircut before we left...then I remembered the barber shop in MK! When we went first thing in the AM there was a long line of toddlers, but later on, the wait was very short.

Even if you don't get a haircut, it's great to get the kids' hair decorated! Our daughter had a great time, and it was so cheap!
Totally worth it.:thumbsup2

How do I get a picture on here? I'm a newbie, please help!

How cheap? For what services? I assume a wash then cut?

I'm thinking of a back to school haircut for my 7yo nephew, not sure we'd do color, but what extras are available, thanks!

A kids cut is $14, which has not included a wash for my kids, but neither does any barber I ever take them to. That is for a cut and optional mickey head in a colored gel and some confetti on top. They also offer the confetti and gel for $5.00. Tip would be additional.

We both had haircuts and Mickey's added to our heads! It was a lot of fun. I will have to say though that in the heat the paint on the Mickey never dried and it was a sticky mess. DS kept on getting paint on DH and all over his neck and shirt.

This is my second favorite photo. We had a photo pass one done looking at the Castle up in the train station...that is my favorite!

This May when we took our 2 year old DGS to the barber shop for his first haircut, we had a wonderful unexpected surprise! The barber who cut DGS' hair was the same hairdresser who did our daughter's hair in 2005 for her Disney Fairy Tale Wedding! An amazing coincidence!

The first haircut experience was great fun (especially for a Disneymaniac family like us!) DGS was entertained by the stickers and the toys and we got some incredible pictures! I highly recommend this experience for any little one who hasn't had a haircut yet. :goodvibes

Don't forget, they do adults too!

My husband was really busy with work leading up to our last trip and could not find the time to get a haircut. I jokingly "warned" him that I was going to make him go to the Main Street barber if he did not take care of his hair before the trip. He did not, and so to the barber he went! They actually did a great job--his hair is difficult to cut. They filled his head up with pixie dust too, and later that day he got picked to be "that guy" at Monsters Inc. Maybe they thought a guy with pixie dust in his hair would be a good sport about all the teasing. :rotfl:

With tip, I believe the cut was $20.

We just did it a few weeks ago. Little one had her first haircut at 2, almost went to sleep! Big girl got the pixie dust and pink stripes, and DH got a haircut. We did get a lock of DD's hair wrapped up in tissue paper with pixie dust sprinkled on it and sealed with a Mickey sticker. It was $34 for all three, not bad! GREAT, GREAT, GREAT experience.

They dont take reservations....and make sure you ask for Michael he is the best they have the and the nicest........Mention the Masked Maniac as Michael has been cutting my boys hair for 9 years and also comes to see me wrestle.......
