Disney bans workers from texting while driving on the job

I would guess that CA already has a law against driving and texting in place and FL probably too.

Yes in CA, no in FL. From the article:

Texting while driving is already illegal in 30 states, including California and the District of Columbia, according to the Governors Highway Safety Association. Eight states, including California and D.C., also prohibit drivers from using handheld cell phones.

But both practices are legal in Florida.

"While there is no law in Florida that prohibits texting while driving, all Walt Disney Parks and Resorts cast members have always been expected to observe safe driving practices while operating any vehicle in performance of their job," Malenius said.

Jason Garcia and The Sentinel are slipping, Perez Hilton had that story on his page days ago.

Great idea, now maybe the states can work on stopping drivers on our roadways from texting.:cool1::banana:

It's scary that they HAVE to put these kinds of rules and laws into effect in the first place...I don't see how anyone can concentrate on driving while texting :sad2:

And of course, they can't.
Wish Pa. would wise up and pass such a law-----
