Disney Bands Questions

Has anyone had a band play at their Disney wedding??? I am planning to get married there next year and would like a band to play at my reception...

I am wondering what kind of music do they play? Is there a selection of bands you can choose from??? and are there also a band that plays latin music???

I am hoping that someone can help me with this question. I am wondering about what to have...

I know that on the Disney Weddings site under "Reception" you can view Entertainment choices, and they have the different types of bands listed. I'm pretty sure I saw a Latin music band as a choice, but I could be wrong. But they do have several options. Hope I helped!

Edit: Okay, I just looked. There was no Latin band listed, but they do have the choice of a Live band with varying musical styles. So I guess the best bet is to talk to your coordinator or consultant (I still haven't mastered the lingo around here).

It appears that Disney contracts out bands the way they do DJs, so if you wanted a Latin band they'd find one for you. I also get the feeling that not very many brides have live bands because they're so expensive, and DFTW may try to steer you toward a DJ.

We are having a jazz trio for our vow renewal reception. Our planner, Ken helped us get Davonda Simmons. She has a website that is very helpful. We definitely went over our budget with this (I think it's 3695 for 3 1/2 hours) but she sounds amazing on the website. I can let you know more after our vow renewal July 12th.

Their musician set up is kind of complicated, I would definitely ask for what you specifically want for the wedding. My cousin is a jazz guitarist that does corporate events at Epcot and MGM. He is technically a Disney employee, but they (the musicians) are subcontracted through the musician's union. In fact, they even have these musicians fill in at some of the countries. My cousin has filled in at Norway for a guitarist almost every weekend.
