Disney Bands and Park pass question

Does anyone know the answer to this?

I have a Magic band that I got from my last resort stay at the end of November, should I have brought it with me when I bought the Florida Resident ticket? Didn't stay at the resorts last Friday when I got the ticket, just wondering if these Magic band things are a use it and throw it away thing or what?

I had no problem doing the Fastpass with the tickets at Disney' Hollywood Studios even though we didn't enter the park until 1pm. Walked right in and got all three attractions we wanted as we entered the park.

All you have to do is link your ticket to your My Disney Experience account. The band will read from your account. You should be able to keep the band and use it on future visits. The battery installed in the band that activates long-range scanning (not the type where you hold it up to the scanner) will last a couple of years apparently.

One thing they are currently using the long-range for is to find your table at Be Our Guest lunch, so they can deliver your food.

Sweet! I will be going back for the Flower and Garden Festival, so I'll get it linked for then. Now I get why they are selling those Magic Band covers, I got a grey band, because I missed picking a color. Might just buy a cover then.

I used a BOG lunch "fast pass" in November - and we were not given a rose….

I'm wondering, if they see Magic Bands on you, if they withhold the rose and use the MB's instead…??

Correct.

The rose is only given to guests who do not have MagicBands.
