Has anyone used this service? Did you find them to be professional? What about security? My husband doesn't want someone walking in and possibly taking our kids... Also pricing information would be great... Do you know if they offer this at POR?

Hi,

Unless it's changed recently Disney doesn't actually have their own babysitting service, rather they contract with a company called "kids nite out". I used the prior one they had but I can't think of what they were called right now (kindercare maybe?). Anyway, they were great and I was very nervous about doing it - all turned out well. A very grandmotherly lady came with a bag of toys and my son had a great time with her. I also used Fairy Godmother's once, another service in the area often mentioned on these boards. I loved the sitter, but their office staff seemed a bit unorganized to me.

You might also ask this on the Families board. Hope someone with more recent info can help.

It was expensive. Something like $12/hour for one child, 4 hour minimum, and they get some travel time out of that so you aren't actually getting a full 4 hours. I also tipped the sitters. I'm happy my kids are old enough for the kid's clubs now.

How old do they have to be for the kids club? And what is it? My kids are 4 and 2. Thanks.

We used the Simba's clubhouse, at AKL last trip. My kid's absolutely loved it, and begged to stay longer. They fed them a meal, and had activities.

Were on more of a budget this trip, but I'm hoping for a adult-only meal, at California Grill, for our 15th wedding anniversery. If we do, we plan on the kid's club at the Poly. I hear it is fun too.

I've always thought of having in-room sitting, but am too nervous. My kids are a little older now (9 and 6), but still.

I just booked Fairy Godmothers for $12/hour for 2 kids, plus $12 transportation fee. Kids' Nite Out is $16.50/hr for 2 kids, plus $8 transportation fee. I agree with Lady Tramp that the Fairy Godmothers office staff is a bit unorganized, but I have read such good reviews here, on allears, and in a few guidebooks. My kids are under age 5 and might be a little nervous about a complete stranger coming to the room, but they will like the idea of a "Fairy Godmother."

We've used FG in the past and were very pleased with them. Yes, whoever answers their phones does seem unorganized, but the sitters have always been very professional. We used Kids Nite Out on our last trip and were very pleased with them as well. :D
