Disney Babies:Let's compile our best tips for the under 1 set!!!

We took our ds last year when he was 10 months. He is our youngest (also have a 12yr dd, 10yr DS, and 8yr b/g twins). We did the land/sea cruise and we all had the BEST time. Added days to the vacation before and after so we where gone a total of 11 days. I was very nervous about this because I didn't take the twins until they were 2 and they loved to be in the stroller so I knew I wouldn't have a problem. Ds did great. He napped in his stroller and really liked the rides. His favorite was small world. As far as the 3D shows go every kid is different. Ours did fine until he got sprayed with water (he didn't like that very much) so I would just make sure to get an end seat so I could get up quick so he wouldn't get wet!
I really wish I had taken the advise about sending things down early. I formula fed so the bag was very heavy!! I did pack his jar foods in individual bags (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) with disposable spoon and bibs. That worked out great, just grab a bag and throw in the diaper bag.
I couldn't have lived without my stroller. The rentals in my opinion are not for the under one set.
As far as the plane goes make sure to get a seat! Our ds doesn't mind being in his car seat (again every kid is different) so the flight from Jersey to Orlando wasn't a problem. He slept through most of it. I was very concerned about his ears because he got an ear infection AGAIN a week before we left. During take off I had him sucking on his pacifier. He seemed fine until I noticed that he was sticking his finger in his ear. As a mother of 5 kids I don't panic to quick but when he pulled it out and it was covered with BLOOD I freaked!!!! Turned out he just scratched his it but I thought for sure he ruptured his ear drum!! Thank goodness for calm DH's and flight attendants! I will have to try the decongestant on this trip because the twins had a very hard time during take off. We had 2 8yrs screaming :sad2: !! I had never even thought they would have a problem.
I think the biggest thing is just to take your cues from the child. All of mine are so diffrent and the things that bother some of them don't bother the others. Just go, roll with the punches and have a great time! We did and can't wait till May!! :woohoo:

We are going in June with a 8.5 month old  , how is it you can bring them on the rides ( pooh, Dumbo, etc...)? Can I just leave him in his snugli facing out, or does he need to sit on his own? Thanks for the help :goodvibes

fuji--you can do both! DS was 2 months old when we went in January and using the Baby Bjorn was great on the rides. But you can also hold hte little ones in your lap if you'd like! Disney is great for babies! Have a great trip!

not sure if this is posted, but bring Disposable sippy cups & spoons! it was GREAt to be able to toss what we used at the end of the trip and have more room!

We also used Disposable bibs & the bottles with the liners. we brought two bottles with us in case we lost one and just a few nipples.

Don't forget a cheap-o bottle brush! we tossed it at the end of our stay.

Disposable Changing pads by huggies were the GREATEST!

pretty much if it had the word disposable in it, we bought it :yay:

We just got back from almost two weeks at WDW with an 11-month old. Here are my tips:

1. We rented a fullsize crib from A Baby's Best Friend. Our daughter slept well and was comfortable. We also rented a baby bathtub and a play yard. The play yard was really nice because we were able to place her there for a few minutes at a time and know that she was safe. She would happily play in the play yard for a good 15 minutes every morning and evening - when we were getting dressed and ready to go, for instance.

Oh, and we got a bucket of toys for her as well. She was enthralled with the toys because they were almost all "new" to her. Renting all four pieces of equipment for 12 nights was expensive (about $300), but I would do it again. All items were clean, and the company does exactly what they say they will.

2. We ordered groceries from Garden Grocer, including jarred baby food that would have been very heavy to travel with. We loved dealing with this company as well. They were polite, delivered our order to our room, and even helped us unload the order! In addition to the baby food, we got YoBaby yogurt, tons of bottled water, diapers, wipes, and breakfast items.

I know we paid a premium for these items, but not having to shop at a strange store after a long travel day was well worth it!! Time is money at WDW, and I would happily do this again too. Actually, the premium they charge (including the $10 delivery fee) is really pretty reasonable.

3. We kept the diaper bag stocked with disposable bibs and disposable spoons. I don't normally use them, but it was a great convenience on vacation.

4. We remembered the bottle drying rack, but forgot a bottle brush and had to buy a toothbrush to improvise! Remember both of them - plus some soap. We ordered a small bottle of dish soap from Garden Grocer.

5. Don't forget to inspect your room when you first enter - before letting the baby loose. Crawl around on your hands and knees, and pay special attention to the corners and under the beds/furniture. Our hotel room was quite clean, but I still found a popcorn kernel and a bobby pin that could have been dangerous to our daughter.

Hope this helps! Have a great trip and enjoy your little ones! :)

I never would have thought of that, something so obvious  . Thanks!

This is a great post...I'm traveling with my 6 mo. old next month and the tips here have been a huge help (both in helping me prepare & in keeping my mind at ease!).

Thank you!!!
