disney at Thanksgiving

We are considering going during t-giving break w/ our 3 kids- DS9, DD6, DD4.
We have always gone in the summer so I am not sure what to expect with the weather at that time of year. Are the water parks and pools open and is it warm enough to get in?
Last summer we went and stayed at POP. We got 2 rooms that joined. We put the kids to sleep pulled the door a bit and used that time in our room to get ready for the next day and relaxed a bit. We are thinking of trying a moderate or better, but we really liked being able to put them to bed with the lights off and give us time to still do the things we needed to do for the next day.
Any thoughts on other resorts?

The pools are open, one water park is closed for refurbs but the other will be open.

Weather is unpredictable, it could be warm with cool mornings or it could be cool with chilly mornings.

We have been to WDW the last two years during Thanksgiving week. We had a great time. The weather can be a little unpredictable but only in the sense that it could be between 60 and 80 degrees. Better than the heat/humidity of the summer--IMO. The parks/resorts are decorated beautifully. Crowds are manageable. We went the Saturday before Thanksgiving and found the crowds picked up the Wednesday before the holiday. Both years we left the Friday after Thanksgiving. Both trips we used the pools--all are heated.

We also have two small children and getting them to sleep at night was tough in one room. I think you'll have a hard time going from two rooms to one. If you're looking to upgrade, I suggest taking a look at a DVC location for the extra space and possibly renting points. You'll get the price per night of a moderate but in a deluxe resort setting.
