I'm getting married in May 2015. I can't do a wedding at Disney, so what are some good ways to have Disney at my wedding?

I'm putting some Disney touches in my at home wedding which will be this fall. I don't have anything set 100%, but somehow there will be at least one hidden Mickey in the cake design (meeting the baker next week), a hidden Mickey or two in the floral design (thinking it would be easy to arrange 3 flowers in the desired pattern and surround it with other flowers so it is sort of subtle), and I'll make some crystal or pearl Mickeys to tuck into bouquets and such.

There are Disney wedding invitations on the Alfred Angelo bridal website. We may use a different paper supplier for something a little more subtle, but hopefully something with a castle or fairy tale type theme, but not over the top.

I have a couple of other ideas, but not sure how they'll play out and fit with the overall more elegant and not as "cute" way I want it to all look. :)

My DD wanted to add some elements of movies that they loved into their wedding - mostly Disney movies. No one dressed up in costume, but the wedding party (MOH, BM, FGs and parents) all dressed to represent a certain movie. I linked a pic of her and her MOH who was Belle. Her boutique was a basket of flowers with a couple books in it - which just happened to fit her MOH's personality perfectly. You can't see the red rose brooch in the pic that we fastened the sash with. My DH and I were Carl and Ellie. My DH wears "Carl glasses" anyway. He wore suspenders with a bow tie, and I wore a sundress like in the picnic scene. His parents were Lilo and Stitch - which his mom was thrilled about since she is part Hawaiian. She wore a red muumuu with white flowers and he wore a blue Hawaiian shirt. The flower girls were Sebastian and Flounder - red sundress with black trim and yellow sundress with blue trim.
We did a Lady and the Tramp style reception with red and white checked tablecloths. The centerpieces were old fashioned wine bottles with a single rose. (We didn't do candles since it was day time....and a fire hazard.)
We all had a lot of fun with it. I think it is great how much you can really personalize your wedding now.

Hope the pic comes through.:confused3

I highly recommend that you browse a bit on etsy - just search for your favorite movies (and wedding), it's a great way to see what is possible and how you can incorporate Disney in subtle and elegant way.

Moreover I think centerpieces that represent different movies are really cute - for inspiration just google or take a look an Pinterest!

This is fantastic! We are hoping to have a prewedding party in my parents backyard as we want to go to Disney and doubt that many people will come. These sound like some lovely ideas. Do you have any more photos?

Let's see what I can convince my computer to share.;)

Notice the red tie and the bride's blue ribbon ala Lady and the Tramp.

Someone is doing a trip report right now in thsi forum on her at home wedding. She incorporated a lot of Beauty and the Beast into her wedding. From what I've seen in her PJ and the trip report it looks really nice!

I am in the process of planning my own Disney inspired Beauty and the Beast wedding I have bell jars with the roses hanging books mirrors candles to represent all the characters and things like that to in corporate to make it feel like Beauty and the Beast

We had lots of different things incorporated with our wedding (star wars, doctor who, harry potter and of course Disney!).
One subtle Disney element I had was to get a Disney pin of each bridesmaids favorite character to go on their bouquet. For star wars ( now counts as Disney) we walked out through a tunnel of lightsabers while the star wars theme was played on bagpipes.
