I've got two questions regarding our upcoming SoCal trip with a stop in DisneyLand:

1) My mother, who is travelling with us, does not want to book the hotel the night before we check into GCV. ( We will be in anaheim the night before ) because she is afrad of "where" we'll be at the night before. ( it's a long story, but we SHOULD be in anaheim by then ). My question is late February, how easy will it be to just "pop into" a hotel and get a room? ( Personally, I'm a planner, and want to book a night at either Portofino bay or Hojo or something! )

2) Tickets. Disney has a promotion for advance purchse. If I go online, the NIGHT BEFORE, does it still count as advance purchase? Again, she wants to see what is available in retail outlets or even the hotel we stay at before actually purchasing tickets. ( For example, I know Portofino Bay has discount tickets, as do places like Costco ). But if the prices aren't as good, we could go online, buy our tickets with the will-call option and pick up the next morning. I'm ASSUMING this would be okay?

Thanks!

I would book in advance. Where I live I've seen over and over people thinking they will find a last minute bargain. In reality the hotel will call around seeing if another room is available elsewhere to help the guest. Eyes pop open when they are told the only local hotel room is at the 4 seasons for $450.

As far as advanced ticket deals. Yes you can the night before, but you have to be able to print it out. The hotels don't have any deal better than disney, they will just sell them at the same price that disney does online. So it's really a choice if you want to spend extra time at the front desk or do it ahead of time at your leisure.

Well for the hotel specifically ( as opposed to park tickets ) it's not about a bargain. She seems to think we may not be right next to DisneyLand the night before, I can't imagine why not, because the whole PLAN is to be in the anaheim area so we don't have to deal with LA traffic on the Monday morning... But she doesn't want to "commit" ... but I can assure you she also doesn't want to pay 450$ for a hotel either :) ... maybe I can push ... thanks :)

Yes listen to skiingfast. Waiting to get a hotel could really put you in a less than desirable area, or cost. I like to plan ahead and waiting is only going to waste your Disney time. I would rather be in DownTown Disney than on my computer buying tickets. :tink:

Hi again. I just sent you a private message with a map of hotel locations around Disneyland. I hope this helps you out, I find it so valuable. :tink:
