Oh no! He was one of the greats. That man knew more about Disney than anyone else.

Dave's great work demonstrated the importance of preserving the rich history of The Walt Disney Company, and how Disney's history inspires many. His illustrious career, which spanned 40 years, showed how much of a vital asset he was to Disney in preserving every single piece of history spanning back to Walt's heyday, and being Disney's vast font of knowledge which many could count upon. With his impeccable knowledge and experience in archiving, as well as identifying a need to keep Walt's memory alive 3 years after his death, Roy Oliver Disney couldn't have picked a better person than Dave Smith.

A true Disney Legend deserving of the title, Dave will be sadly missed. May he rest in peace.

The man is a legend and if you dont know about him do some research. Because of him we will have amazing history for life because of his archival program he created. I had the pleasure of meeting him once for a tour and you would think it was his first day on the job he was so excited.

I met Dave at WDW back in the 80s. what a nice guy he was. I was psyched that we were both wearing the same Mickey Mouse watch.
